Will Coronavirus hit used car prices?

If people continue to WFH then absolutely, but there now seems to be a "get back to the office" message being propagated from the gov - which is quite disappointing but presumably to support all those local supporting businesses in town centres- coffee shops, etc.
Plus businesses may still expect people to be in the office "some" days a week, thus maybe still meaning a reasonable commuting requirement.
I wonder how many of those people currently fully WFH will still be doing that this time next year?
It's clearly an economic based call to get people back into an office rather than WFH.Plus businesses may still expect people to be in the office "some" days a week, thus maybe still meaning a reasonable commuting requirement.

It doesn't matter what the government say on this, the world has changed, WFH will be far more prevalent and will become the new normal even when CV19 is over for lots of people previously office based.
Thats going to have a big impact on commercial property and the service economy.

Absolutely. Though the percentage of managers / employers who really would rather people were in an office could use this as a reason.jsf said:

I do hope so - and i did believe so. However the governments most recent message concerns me a little. Thats going to have a big impact on commercial property and the service economy.
I do hope we move, as a country, away from this mass drudge of a commute daily to the office and back.
I'd like to see permanent WFH as "the normal", with going in to the office as the exception rather than the rule.

Talking about sitting at home and with the joys of post CV19 developing e-commerce, here’s something for the BMW fanboys -
BMW UK has launched its digital car locator that gives customers real-time access to new stock across its entire dealer network.
It comes as the group says online car reservations soared by 130 per cent in May on April’s figure, with the trend continuing into June. Hello DT.

Its laughable seeing Boris now pleading with us to go back to work in offices to save the other city centre businesses.
I was close to choosing whether to rehome or eat my dogs/kid as far as cashflow went I'm not going to go piss money away in Nandos, Starbucks and the petrol station / parking / tolls if I don't have to.
I've had a huge cashflow scare and will be looking after it far more carefully ongoing. I suspect I'm not the only one in that boat.

My concern is that companies use this as a "reason" to get people back in to offices.

Quite. Government has scared the life out of the population, been inconsistent in who they’ve supported financially, issued increasingly arcane instructions regarding what is and is not to be done. Now they want everyone to go back to what they were doing and start spending. Whilst wearing a mask probably.I was close to choosing whether to rehome or eat my dogs/kid as far as cashflow went I'm not going to go piss money away in Nandos, Starbucks and the petrol station / parking / tolls if I don't have to.

I think there a lot of people will not spring into action as required.

Apparently we've to "trust common sense" with regards to face masks.I think there a lot of people will not spring into action as required.

However you're chosing to answer a question i didnt ask.
I asked why the clear sneering attitude, highlighted above, about BMW owners, given you yourself allegedly owned one?

Throbberbody is clearly not right {in the head} with all his daily doom updates and predictions so probably best everyone ignore him and leave him to his own little world.Agreed. I, for one, will try harder not to respond to his trolling.

What are people seeing out there in terms of demand and price moment? Think of people out there actively looking for a car right now and those in the trade?
- Is there still high demand?
- Is the supply of used cars improving? Trade ins, auctions opening up, etc
- Are prices still as firm as they were or is there now some leeway in prices?
- Any signs of that changing?

So furlough, business grants and loans form part of ZERO support!
Of course, they always want more support though. Unfortunately, the printing press has eased off and other industries all want a slice of any handouts. I’m sure the UK car industry would have liked a targeted VAT cut. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
