Te tints are lighter than the photos suggest they look quite light & considering the rear window isn't tinted I'd say viewing would be required before passing judgement.

The wheels aren't to my taste but a lot of people like black wheels, it's not lowered if I needed a fast estate it'd be this or the 55.

Once I'd decided I wanted an E63 I had a look at a couple of these, plus the pre-facelift S212 6.2s. Something very end-of-an-era about that engine, and I suspect some future classic factor as a result
(although possibly not for the one in the article). Ultimately the faster, easier and more economical 5.5 won for me, plus the fact that the 6.2s were mostly too old for warranties but too expensive for the gamble. It was a fairly close thing though. If I hadn't sworn off black cars it could have gone the other way.

Could be. Can't you swap this in the menu? Or I am just making it up?
I believe so but the main reason for my assumption in this case is when you look at the MOT history for this car there were other occasions when km’s were recorded instead of miles but were stated correctly as Km. So it does appear the menu option was changed!! Again....I need to get out more...oh, hang on, I can’t!

I disagree in some part. A lot of people don't have a clue and it's only really the exhaust that is tricky to do anything with so it gives the game away. I polish my E46 up and some of the missuses clients comment on the 'new' bmw in the drive lol
So your trying to fool people who don’t have a clue that it’s something they don’t know it isn’t, good idea

It's funny my dad sorely misses his 6.2 CL63 his newer & more powerful 5.5 is a beast but he misses the throttle connection response & searing top end.

The TT has the top end etc but it's not as cohesive.

Don't get it sorry, it will still look like a E63, it will still sound like a E63- so who is going to be fooled into thinking it is some kind of sleeper?

Yes? My point is that 90% of people won't care what the badge says, those in the know will spot the real AMG or M car- despite what the badge says.

Best scrap it then...

This is why you get cars checked properly, check the documentation and service records. These are old cars now, they will all have some history.

Its a very PH thing, only one owner who must be a chap with the right stuff, no modifications, never had an accident, super low miles.

Its a car, you go and look at it and see if its any good, in this case its quite a bit cheaper than most, even the cars with rosy looking provenance can still be troublesome.

Paint the wheels, remove the tints and it will most likely be fine

I have absolutely no need for a 7 seater estate, but if I did I'd love one of these! Although I'd prefer a bit less black.

While it may have issues, it doesn't seem as "Brave" as some of the "Pills" that have been featured.

I agree, forget the mileage and buy on condition. Yeah it may have had a tough life, but they does not mean it is knackered. Rather a thoroughly used car than a low mileage garage queen at 3x the price.

You do know you've completely 100% contradicted yourself?

A) De-badge E63 and NOBODY will believe it's a bog-standard diesel.
B) De-badge M6, and NOBODY will be able to tell it from a bog-standard diesel.

Do you not understand how non-sensical your statements are?

I had an E55K and it was brilliant, nothing really scary bill wise on them except if the airmatic suspension goes wrong.
Never really been that interested in the 6.2 one, I’d rather the 5.5 bi turbo that came after it.

Most people who can't tell the difference between an M-Sport 320d and an M3 will not care, they will just think its a BMW.

Well then explain yourself, because it is EXACTLY what you said! Original poster said 'add a CDi badge to it', and you immediately deride it by saying NOBODY would think it any lesser than what it actually was - an E63. But then you say if you did the same to your M6, nobody would know it was any different than a boggo diesel! So please tell me how they are the same thing?

You say you 'give up', but you've actually made no effort to explain at all!

Actually you're right, we'll leave it at that as it's pretty clear I ain't going to get an answer either - so I'll give up too. Have a nice day also.

I understand what he means, it really isn't difficult. He is saying that people who are not interested in cars do not even notice the badges, at all. So it would not matter if he had a 635d badge or an M6 badge, people who aren't into cars might see badges, but they think nothing of them. That's what I take from his comment anyway.

I've 'de-badged' every car I've owned, as I think it looks better. Simple.

Yes, but you have to read his original comment in regards to re-badging the E63 as a CDi, he says NOBODY would be fooled by that..... you need to read the thread man because I've already said enough on the matter: he made two completely contrasting comments, yet you are only focussing on one of them.
