Anybody won one of those car lotteries?

It's all a bit shady, so people should accept that, rather than enforce one element of the rules that benefits them because they want something for nothing.
While most people using them don't have a gambling problem (I assume), the competitions should really be classed as, and regulated as, lotteries. They are not games of skill , especially in this day-and-age when an answer can be Googled. I assume the authorities have larger fish to fry that than these comps sucking money from the poor and stupid*.
Accepting they are a bit shady is a strange way of looking at it! The rules/regs are very clear and BOTB aside they are not operating at all in the 'game of skill' arena so that has nothing to do with it (why they all have questions remains a mystery, they don't need them and I'm fairly sure the dropdown does absolutely nothing on many sites, one site admitted it made no difference). While most people using them don't have a gambling problem (I assume), the competitions should really be classed as, and regulated as, lotteries. I agree the rules aren't fit for purpose though, they are essentially running lotteries using the 'free entry' as a loophole to avoid being a lottery, the point that there is little to no oversight or enforcement of the free entry bit is where the loophole comes into its own.
With that in mind, I think the discussion of free entries is perfectly valid here. The argument that they wouldn't exist without people paying is one thing, but they wouldn't exist without free entries either, there is no getting away from that. It would be something silly like arguing in a football thread that you can only have an opinion if you attend in person, and if you watch on telly you shouldn't be involved.
I think I'm in the minority, perhaps even unique, in that I'm just not a fan of the Cayman. I really don't understand the constant gushing over the Cayman, let alone this GT4 model. 420hp and 4-point race harnesses. That'll be fun going to Sainsbury's.
Anyway, I've bought a handful for that green RS4

I understand the gushing, and totally get it, but given a straight choice, I'd take a 718 Spyder over the GT4. Zero hesitation.Anyway, I've bought a handful for that green RS4

As a competition win it's pretty special as it's a perfectly usable car that won't be ruinously expensive to run for a while, but will be worth a very, very tidy sum when you come to need/want to sell it, quite possibly worth more than its worth today.Anyway, I've bought a handful for that green RS4
A far better comp for most compared to the Lambos and Ferraris and 1000hp Audis that come up, in my opinion. As long as you can safely keep it at home it and afford to run it for a little while it would be foolish to take a cash alt on this one.

And at a year old and 5k miles it's the perfect prize. I'm in for a couple and already contemplating the theorectical garage problems a 3rd car would bring!

Guessing you haven’t driven one then? It’s an incredible thing to drive, totally usable on the road. Most don’t have harnesses. Anyway, I've bought a handful for that green RS4
It’s small, easy to place, better handling balance than the 911 and has a surprising amount of boot space.

I bought a ticket . I'd consider taking the cash tbh as I don't drive much anymore and it would sit in the garage most of the time. Who knows though. Tiny chance of winning.
I got one too. I'd enjoy it for a bit and swap for something cheaper as I don't actually need a car of that type as I've got an s2000 and that is good fun to drive and serves similar purpose.ok - I'm tempted. Despite the horrendous off-side front panel gap I'm VERY tempted, I mean even if it's a total dog it'll only have cost a few quid so well worth-while I'd have thought
