Thought those on here might like to hear from a recent winner?! Won the Audi Etron Launch Edition on DCG last night, can't quite believe it. Haven't been a big spender, probably averaging about 10/20 quid a month for last few months; postal when expensive entries, and occasional online entry when not too dear. Generally only pick 1 or 2 cars a month and spend 5/10 pounds per car, and had actually cut down recently and not done one in a while.

Anyway, when I entered there wasn't even a cash alternative, and just wanted the car, but cash alternative offered a few days later and now reality hitting and not sure what to do (really nice dilemma to have, I know!). I have a cheap Focus Estate lease about to start middle of September, and obviously would far rather the Audi, but also looking work done to the house, so thinking the cash may win out. Might take the car for now and then sell in few weeks once decided. WBAC estimate on car is higher then cash alt anyway (assuming accurate!)

Nice one! How many tickets did you have?

I'd keep it and maybe sell it in 6 months.

I had 8 tickets for it, had some Dream Points to spent so added a few extra tickets on top of my normal.

Congratulations, enjoy the car or the money. Love seeing people win stuff, can be life changing and hope you get the most out of it all.

That’s a hell of a win - Well done!

I’d be a bit torn too on that one - i would phone up a couple of local luxury garages send them pictures and spec and ask what they’d offer you and go from there

Yep I assume waiting lists are fairly long for one of these? May be worth phoning around to see if it's worth the hassle.

Cheers for all the messages folks. Will certainly be a life changer for me and the family, don't think the adrenaline has stopped pumping since I found out! In current climate the idea of spending money (ie. adding to the mortgage!) to update the house for the ever growing family has been pretty daunting, hence I know I can't keep the car long term parked on the drive and for the commute!

So I've spent the evening on Autotrader to figure out what's out there for a family wagon if I take the cash, and still leave a chunk for the house.....but good grief, used car prices are just nuts! As much as going ahead with the Focus lease depresses me slightly, i got it on a cheap deal at start of year, and might still be best way forward.

Will take some of the advice given and contact local Audi dealer and others on Monday to see what kind of money they would offer. At the minute WBAC are about 3.5k over the cash alternative, plus if I take the car DCG give 1.5k to help with running costs for a bit. I'm just worried that WBAC would lower their price dramatically for some random reason once they see the car!

Hope the Google random number generator is as good to some others on here soon!

Don’t believe anything WBAC has to say, that quote WILL come down. As said, phone local dealers etc. though they’re all going to offer a bit less because there’s going to be two owners in a short space of time.

I would personally just take the cash alt and save yourself the hassle.

Meanwhile, I’ve just seen Rev Comps has got a gorgeous 80’s Merc 500SL….

Take the car and then sell on motorway, I buy a lot of vehicles through motorway and I do often pay a few quid more than I might have done when I'm offered a vehicle directly.
If you want to DM me the details of the vehicle il happily tell you what it's worth tomorrow.

Two pistonheads winners in 2 weeks! congrats on the win. I think I would keep the Etron for a few months.

Congrats, great win. I'd personally take the car and the cash that DCG offer. I don't anticipate it'll be too much work to shift.

WBAC etc are pretty strict with people 'flipping' cars, for a £50k plus car they want to see proof of purchase from a recognised dealer if you've had it less than 12 months. I know Rev Comps supply a letter on request which can help when it comes to selling a car you have no proof if buying, it would be worth asking DCG for something similar.

Congratulatons! what a lovely dilemma to have!

I would take the money and continue with the cheap lease on the Focus Estate smile
