Read the thread a bit and skipped to the end; does the postal entry route still work these days?
Occasionally - but not as effective!dhutch said:
Postal is presumably cheeper, but more faff. Offered because of some bizzare quirk of uk law? As part of it being classed as a 'compention' rather than lottery.
I have now sent 2,611 postal entries. Thank god, I am running at a £4k net profit. If I take my time into consideration though, definitely not.
Interestingly, I would be £16,000 DOWN if I was paying. So statistically, very unlucky.

It's a cracking car to be fair, I think I may have said but was previously owned by a friend of mine - gutted I didn't get a chance to drive it too spiritedly while he had it
Cracking thing, and sounds really well sorted.I'd have to ditch the wing though, I can't stand GT kit on non-GT cars.

Wow. Presumably those figures include the cost of the stamp? And you hav recorded it all at you've gone along. Having one cash prize win in that time? Bit of a system in place for getting them off, enter for everything once a week on a rolling basis. Thank god, I am running at a £4k net profit. As said, time has to be billed for free for it to work out as a win currently. But if you net a 100k car maybe not so much. It's a lottery for you too at the end of the day, just like.if you pay straight cash to enter.

Yeah I estimate £1 per card for stamp and supplies might be a little bit higher. As said, time has to be billed for free for it to work out as a win currently. But if you net a 100k car maybe not so much. It's a lottery for you too at the end of the day, just like.if you pay straight cash to enter.
I won £5,000 and £1,400 (cash alternative)

Worth saying I've entered a similar amount by post (close to 3000, I think) and won absolutely nothing. And that's with a decent run of getting super expensive ultra low odds entries through. Probably £20k of entries or thereabouts. As said, time has to be billed for free for it to work out as a win currently. But if you net a 100k car maybe not so much. I stopped late last year as the hit rate dropped off a cliff compared to the early days.

I‘ve stopped Postals. I sent 118 from feb till July. I had 27 accepted.
My friends sends around 200 a month and he’s not had much of a joy of late and is knocking it on the head.
Win win for them isn't it. Ignore the ones that do arrive and eventually those people just stop (and I'm one of those). My friends sends around 200 a month and he’s not had much of a joy of late and is knocking it on the head.
Absolutely no oversight of it at all.

Mustang on DCG soon
there's already a Mach 1 on Revcomps... not sure it's for me (being weird I love the colour but prefer auto, not insurmountable, and LHD for a pony/muscle car)cpl_payne said:
