Yeah I posted this earlier, you could use a credit card on some of these 'free comp' sites too, just to hammer home how unregulated it is (any sort of credit is illegal on actual gambling sites).Very, very easy to spend more than £20k in 24hrs on free comps.
They've been skating on thin ice for years. It just takes one big loser complaining to the gambling commission. I do wonder if these 'instant' competitions they're all adopting is what will do for them.

Yes, Jamie (Offically Gassed) is friends with the guy who runs Level Up.
Someone I know works in a well known tuning company and was looking to do a collaboration with a, let's say popular car YouTuber. The response was hilarious, was something along the lines of they have to fully build a car for free for him for it to be featured on the channel, where he will then make £££s more for the videos of the build.
A casual reference to their company was £5,000.
I'm not against anyone making money but a youtuber's endorsement is worth literally nothing - in fact it's a red flag as it is almost certainly disingenuous.
7 days raffled a GTR with a familiar plate - a quick google search showed a 'Youtuber' driving it down the motorway with the door open hitting over traffic cones. No wonder it was wrapped.

The expected return on these sites is rubbish. Fun for a 'what if' flutter but you'd genuinely be better off spaffing it on roulette if you're out for an 'investment'.
very much on the agree with the roulette comment, see how often you win on that and that's only 37:1DodgyGeezer said:

very much on the agree with the roulette comment, see how often you win on that and that's only 37:1Payout on roulette is 35-1, on odds of 37-1 so a c. 95% payout ratio.
On the car comps it's a payout ratio of between 50% and 75%.
Crazy isn't it, puts it in perspective.

Whilst true, there is no route to win a life changing sum off a couple of quid in roulette. That I guess is the USP, no matter how unlikely it might be.Payout on roulette is 35-1, on odds of 37-1 so a c. 95% payout ratio.

I did bring up roulette in the context of the idea of a several thousand pound punt on one of these competitions - not dissimilar to a few thousand on one number in roulette. At the couple of quid level there's nothing wrong with these sites. Like the lottery you're not so much gambling as you are buying the entertainment of daydreaming about a win.

Yup agree, a lump sum is better spent, bizarrely, at a casino. Everyone I have introduced to these sites have replaced their lottery spending with tickets on DCG instead. Of course there is, just scale it up. Muggy car comp offers 1 / 10,000 chance of £100k car at £15 per ticket. Max tickets = 200 (say) = £3k, so £3k down for a 1/50 chance of winning £100k.
In a casino, put £3k down on your lucky number and you have a 1/37 chance of winning £105k.
Hmmm....
National lottery is fun for £2 or whatever it is... proper dreamland... the car comps are for utter mugs... dream about the car?! play roulette and stand a better chance of being able to buy it than winning it!
(I say that as someone who has entered these comps and probably will again ).

There was a guy on here that won quite a bit. I think 50k. You can go through how much he spent was about 30k. That is how you win .
If I remember correctly though, never particularly forthcoming when replying to general posts saying 'wow, well done, how many tickets did you buy for it?'. Of course, not that they have any requirement to be, but when glancing at the entry lists it was quite clearly maximum tickets for almost all competitions entered.Conversely, there are myriad winners who have simply taken a punt on one or two tickets and won a car or pot of cash or expensive gadget. It's pure chance at the end of the day.

I know we're going way off topic here, but I'd love to know what deals Jamie OG is running with ES Motor, AutoTorque, Littco turbos etc
His builds with ES Motor and AutoTorque must have cost pretty serious money.
You talking about the DC5? Im sure it was mentioned that its around £40k so far or was a few months ago for it (ive only paid attention to him since the DC5 popped up on the youtube algos)His builds with ES Motor and AutoTorque must have cost pretty serious money.
I’ve stopped playing with Elite a while back, just a gut feeling that it’s really not as honest as the others

Elite have released another instant win - The outcome so far suggests that prize allocation is not at all random.
https://elitecompetitions.co.uk/competitions/pound...
You can see at this early stage that there is a huge block of adjacent prizes that have already been won (low value).
If number allocation was random, this would be spread across the whole list.
I wonder if this is intentional as the big prizes seemed to go quickly last time.
Carries on for page after page until:

It's definitely a matter of time before these competitions come under the scope of regulation.

I think this is the first time they’ve commented on playing responsibly. Wonder if they’ll actually put some limits on at some point? Can’t see little messages like these appeasing regulators if and when they finally get round to investigating them.
Along with many actually regulated gambling firms I imagine they are looking at the fine Will Hill got and pooing themselves a little bit.hairykrishna said:
