Anybody won one of those car lotteries?

There must be an ID check at least on collection of a car. It's not impossible that there is card fraud but because it's all mapped to your identity I wonder how successful that would be.
You'd have to be pretty brazen to use stolen details to be fair, especially given they take a winners photo & transfer car into your name/address etc SteRB5138 said:
Nearly £2000 one one draw, that sounds dodgy or its a compulsive gambler with a big bank balance!
Not uncommon at all if you watch the draws closely. I kept an eye on the detail a lot during lockdown (had nothing better to do!) and there were a good number of 'serial entrants' and their names would appear across multiple sites that publish entry lists. I think you can safely assume they are entering on some sites that don't publish entry lists too. There are a good number of names that have now won cars across multiple sites. As others have mentioned the situation is now way, way beyond the 'no purchase necessary' competitions that these rules were put in place for. Try explaining how you can spend £2k a night on a site that exists to run 'Free competitions with a paid entry route' (which is what they officially are).
One tech site I used a lot during lockdown had people maxing out on pretty much every draw, and these were £400-£800 prizes. Burning through hundreds a day to win an iPad and a Dyson, madness!

As a data geek I'd love to pull in all the entry lists and look at how much some must be spending, one of the winners on revcomps last night had;
30x entries on the fireblade
50x entries on the Merc
50x entries on the Jeep
50x entries on the motorhome...
About £1.9k (bit less if on early entry prices) thrown to chance in one evening, appreciate nobodys business but theirs but still if that's a regular thing it's pretty nuts
Edit: Also wouldn't be surprised if some of the other comp websites are keeping an eye on who the big spenders are to target them more if they appear on their records too... the price of transparency I guess
Mental!! 30x entries on the fireblade

Someone mentioned on FB they maxed out on the blue GTR with X-clusive…..£2,735!!!!
Dread to think what people are spending on these comps.

anyone had any luck with postals from Bear Competitions, Rkings or Storm competitions?
Nope, tried lots of small companies but these are the only ones that semi-consistently process entries (for me, at least) and where entries can be verified (such as an email or ticket being added to your account)...Rev Comps (90%)
DCG (70%)
Aspire (100%)
Elite (50% on a good week!)
Redline (100%, although none at the moment due to Royal Mail issues in the area)
Silverstone do apparently, although the last few times I tried they don't put the tickets on your account and it's an absolute PITA to check the entry list, so I stopped in case they were not getting through
Bridge Classics - only if sent by tracked mail
The Redline thing is interesting, if they physically can't accept postal entries at the moment through no fault of their own, is the onus on them to provide a free alternative? It's been about a month now and nothing is getting through on time.

Silverstone certainly have in the past when I've slogged through the entry lists but I stopped sending entries there when they added a handwritten requirement for entriesThe Redline thing is interesting, if they physically can't accept postal entries at the moment through no fault of their own, is the onus on them to provide a free alternative? Redline I got an entry today that was sent on Monday
Elite are being pretty decent recently, more like 80% for me of late although sat sesh stuff launched on wednesday afternoons don't seem to ever get postals added. Still try though...

Got some tickets on the Escort on DCG, haven't bought car tickets in a while, definitely a car I'd keep if I won, would have to figure out a way to fit it into my small, currently jam packed, new build sized garage if I did win though, but would make it work somehow.
Me too and will have the same problem ! Nice problem to have .griffin dai said:

If regulation isn’t the solution just to ensure these competitions are fair and transparent (think lotto with auditors and adjudicators etc) then surely this industry needs to be regulated just to spot folks like these spending thousands. I mean surely that’s problem gambling. Someone mentioned on FB they maxed out on the blue GTR with X-clusive…..£2,735!!!!

If any of you lot win the Cosworth, I'm officially deleting DCG and Piston heads. Its Just Adz said:

I thought that was going to fly out so got my postal off straight away, still nearly 2000 tickets left! Really hard to gauge what's going to be popular (even after nearly 2 years of watching these things)ch37 said:
When I queried postal entries with Bridge Classics they said...
Please bear in mind however that we are a small business with overheads and staff, although the UKGC ensure we offer a postal entry route this doesn't help us invest in future competitions. With no investment there will be no future competitions. Supporting small and independent business is vital, especially nowadays with so many having to disappear.
Amazing statement to make, when you consider what they are basically admitting. Imagine if I said my business would be far more successful if I didn't pay tax!
Lordy! "Investing" in the future of their gambling operation Reminds me of a bicycle raffle/competition on Facebook recently, the person was responding to everybody saying poor me I'm running the first few at a loss because they were investing in "building a community" (of gamblers). I wonder how many people would take part if these things were stated as a cash prize of £xxxx, and not a shiny bike/computer/car/drone etc. Please bear in mind however that we are a small business with overheads and staff, although the UKGC ensure we offer a postal entry route this doesn't help us invest in future competitions. Where can I read more about that Cosworth ?
I tried Googling DCG but nothing relevant popped up .
Looks like a big turbo car , has the rear badges and filler cap of a BT , also has 18" wheels possibly over some oversize discs to stop it properly .

I've had some stty responses from companies when querying T&Cs (particularly when they were all only checking postals once a week) but i thought that one took the biscuit. The best bit, they posted it publicly on Trustpilot too.
