I’ve realised every Monday I’m watching my wife’s mood to see if she gives anything away. She’s my contact for BOTB and I’ve been pretty close recently.

biggrin

A mate of mine recently won the DCG Escort Cosworth. He had 3 tickets I believe. It's made me see these comps in a more legit light.

I don’t think many realise quite how insane the BOTB numbers are - I saw someone on twitter link to the earnings (they’re a listed company, so it’s all out there) that during lockdown were taking in a million quid A WEEK. Dropped a bit since then but still mental money.

Sorry been an insane weekend; collected the Evo and called in at the Jaguar garage nearby so a friend could poke around an F-Type and we were back there again today so he could test drive a couple biggrin

Evo needs suspension adjusting and a couple of small things sorting but overall over the moon as you'd probably imagine smile Chap I dealt with couldn't have been nicer & they had a whole load of other cars lined up for future competitions too and can definitely confirm there are plenty more nice cars coming soon!

Obliglatory photo with one of its stablemates for the time being, the Integra will probably go up for sale soon as a result of this - amazing car in its own right but completely different to the Evo.

Well done, that is definitely a keeper car!

I decided to play a little experiment early last week. I live a few minutes from Elite, so i filled out a postcard correctly and put a first class stamp on. I had planned to post it through their door to ensure they received it, but on both occasions i tried to post it through after work the gates were locked to the estate they are on. So, I put it in the nearest post box a street over rather than not bother at all, plenty of time for them to receive it. There were about 17 tickets left before the draw took place that i entered. Who’d like to guess if i got a ticket or not?

I imagine with only 17 tickets left they presumed they would all sell out and therefore postals got ignored. If they had 3k tickets left I'd have said fair play you got that one.

Yep you need to be sending them much closer to when they are originally listed and for a draw with an absolute minimum of 5 days left if you're really playing around with it as an experiment. If you're doing that and consistently not getting them processed then you know it's not Royal Mail at fault.

Don't Elite still state a minimum 48hr processing time?

I’ve given up on Elite. Useless. Not a fan of their win 50/100x tickets for “xxxxx car” either.

I only send/buy with DCG, Revs, Aspire, Redline, 7 Days & McKinney now. They’ve pretty much always accepted postals so I’ll buy the odd ticket with them if I fancy something.

I’ve calmed down a lot though, can get expensive and a serious problem if your not careful.

Usually buy the odd 99p/£1.49 site credit comps with Click/Car Competition/x-clusive but that’s about it.

Still not won anything! Just some comment draws

think probably a reference to the FB comments - Often a lot of jealous people or certainly were in the past.

Remember a guy who won an MR2 and a lot of people abused his appearance etc it wasn't on - Jealousy.
My mate who won an R8 off DCG about 18 months ago turned up to pick it up in typical farmer gear. Got some proper jealousy/abuse in the comments and his replies to them were absolute gold - mostly along the lines of posting photos/videos of him sat in it grinning and also parked up next to his Range Rover etc. He absolutely relished in winding them up laugh

Edit - I forgot my favourite part - one of our other mates seemed genuinely miffed about him winning it. So George ordered a massive (like 8ft x 5ft!) canvas of his winners/collection photo and had it delivered to miffed mates house!! laughlaughlaugh

He sold it not long ago to put the money into some property. He used (abused!) it for a year and sold it to a dealer for I think £1500 less than the cash alternative DCG offered. I reckon it got cleaned once in the whole time he had it, and no doubt down at the local hand car wash! weeping

wavey it really is in great condition to be fair to DCG & previous owners. I had the rear suspension off adjusting it the other day (was scrubbing badly with just me in it) and underneath it looks like the underside resto it had 3 years ago could have just as easily been earlier this year. All the suspension arms & rear diff cradle etc all look like new

Hello there,

Anyone heard of these? I cant believe what i've read on-line or seen on there live draw videos.

I'd to know to if a fellow pistonhead member plays with these guys.

https://premiumcomps.co.uk/
Been keeping an eye on these since they were mentioned here. Where are the winners?! As far as I can tell there are no entry lists, no results published, no follow up posts with deliveries, no previous draws page etc etc etc. Also regular use of 'mystery cars' which are never pictured, even when they reveal what it is. No company number, address etc, you could go on all day.

Proof of wins is absolutely everything to these sites, DCG and Rev Comps (for example) have winners photos constantly mixed in with posts advertising upcoming draws.

It gets weirder when you look at the live draw posts on Facebook, a page with 40k likes and competitions with up to 4000 entries...

- usually less than 10 viewers (I watched one back, 1 viewer for a sold out comp with thousands of tickets!)
- a weird draw machine, no presenter, just a voice
- name of winner but no town/county
- no phone call
- rarely any likes or comments at all, not one from a winner

The £90k comp will be worth watching, on for a sell out with nearly 8000 tickets sold wink

Crazy numbers. Must be tricky at the start of a project like this but once you get to their level and sell as many tickets yo are always winning.

Honestly I was amazed how many people recognised it, had a few others ask if it was the DCG one smile Think a few others were sold on the idea of buying tickets after chatting to them yesterday too & them seeing the condition the Evo was in etc.

I don't think it'll get much use for the next few days though, need to get the aircon working as it's pretty toasty in there at the moment - hoping it just needs a regas but being a little careful where I take it for obvious reasons smile Did think about taking it up to AutoTorque for a full health check as they look after my friends Evo V but I think they've a couple of months leadtime on getting new bits in so might be a job after summer smile
