Chaps - is it an issue to leave your barge on a couple of axle stands for a week?
I jacked it up at the weekend to diagnose the knocking noise (which I did - drop links), and had to dash off to a garden party so didn't get the wheels back on. Can I leave it like that until the weekend when I will get to have a go of fitting the new drop links? (And for longer inevitably when I fail to fit the drop links and need to call a mobile mechanic).

Hey, I may be wromg but I thought speedos had an overeating error built in until GPS tech came around? Pretty sure an e46 m3 cabrio doesn't do 170mph does it? Always assumed they were limited to 155 and 155 plus 10% equals indicated 170 was my thinking,.but, perhaps I'm very wrong. Won't be first, nor the last time...
Years ago when roadtester journalists actually did the job, Autocar reported that the Maserati Merak speedo over read by almost 40 mph at max. Legally allowable speedo error is up to 10% at specified speeds, surprising that anything made during the past 30 years would be that bad: BMWs ain't what they used to be.
You're right about the M3 not cracking 155 though.
Caveat: I too have been wrong previously.
The Jag speedometer displayed 163mph at limiter:

Is Biglips still looking for his summer holiday barge? Never mind chic badges, this will be the roomiest roomy thing:

Still waiting for BoJo to confirm we can go without the need for quarantine! I have money burning a hole in my pocket but can’t spend it until I get the green light to travel.https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202...
What looks like a tidy Alfa V6 at strong money over top thread. And a very clean looking Legend at half-thread.

What's the barge consensus on non-essential maintenance?
I have no idea when my Rover's cambelt was changed (if ever), apparently it should be done at 90k or 6 years - it is at 55k, but is obviously 19 years old.
I don't intend to do it, given it would probably cost more than I paid for the car, and it certainly isn't something I would do on my driveway.

I'm partial to a Ledge, but I do like some interior luxury in my barges and this ain't it. I realise that it'll be the last thing still moving come the end of time, but it seems pricey for a 24-year old import.

I think they can be quite long lasting on the KV6. Link contains cambelt images. I have no idea when my Rover's cambelt was changed (if ever), apparently it should be done at 90k - it is at 55k, but is obviously 19 years old.

Bit catty on the old 75 forum isn't it!!
Re: cambelt and maintenance etc, it depends how long you're going to keep the car. Not much point in chucking est £400 a cambelt if it's going to be a stop gap.
Bargewise, this LS is below thread at the moment, just down the road from me but has a bit of an orange tinge to its MOT history!! I'm also assuming they aren't original wheels?

What do we think of a 300C?

I mean, they're ugly, ungainly things, and this one has a naff bodykit to make it even worse, and they tend to be driven by odd sorts, but it is a 5.7l hemi v8 for sub-thread (chap says he is expecting around 4k).
The leaking waterpump that will only cost £175 to replace but won't be because his mechanic "is fully booked for the next 3 weeks due to covid" does raise eyebrows.
