Looks lovely, but no air conditioning would irritate me if I were spending that amount of money.

Hello bargers!

My lease is going back next week so I need a barge! I currently drive 200 miles a day either down the A1 or M11 so pretty constant speed all the way up and down.

Need something that's going to be pretty reliable (mechanic father who can fix things when needed).

I've been looking at the V70 posted a few pages back, and a Honda Legend. These piqued my interest for the Adaptive Cruise Control which will be great for my commuting.

Throw some options at me..

If you're talking about the 124 then that does have AC.

Does it?

Shouldn't it have the three central buttons or are you saying it has some kind of after market aircon?

Also interesting how there are no real engine pics, except one with some, i'd hope, heat reflective, non flammable material.

I certainly cant see an air con rad infront of the regular, pretty tiny looking, engine rad.

Rather than start a new thread, which may get bumped off elsewhere never to be seen again, i know we have a few Lexus fans on here, and I have a question. Rather heady ambition and this may be late night ramblings, but I have been thinking about it for many years. I have started a new job which should prove secure, and, in a few years I want to buy another Lexus. (Loved my first and only LS400). Easy enough, loads about. But. I have been looking at buying a used Lexus from the Lexus dealer group. The cars seem a bit more expensive, but I'm thinking Lexus have such a superb reputation, it would be worth it for peace of mind...surely they will only sell on a good car, with a full lexus history, and surely it will come from a lexus owner, usually its first, and has been traded back in for another one. I should say my ambition is tilted at an ls600h post 2013, which in a few years will still be way past thread max, but it is my ultimate car.

Is the lexus dealership experience worth the extra outlay? Is the lexus warranty I have seen some talk about worth it (I beleive it is about £500 a year?), what does it cover? Don't get me wromg guys I will be running my diesel mini f56 for another few years yet, and this is idle dreaming for now, but thats what forums are for, and you guys are the barge beards!

I've been reading about the hybrid battery check for around £60 that some GS cars have had. Sounds like it gives another year on the warranty, not sure if it's just the battery or the hybrid bits as well.

I think generally they have a pretty good warranty, but I'd look over the details to make sure it includes any expensive bit's, you don't want them to refuse an air shock or something blaming it being old and a bush is worn even though it has failed to hold air or something.

I can't see any A/C or climate controls on the dashboard!

Despite only one picture of it, I can't see an air con rad infront of the normal one either.

Thanks man, as I said a long time in the future and I know, stupidly expensive car, but what a barge. I think the warranty is dependent upon flsh which im sure is not cheap, but i will hopefully not be doing many miles by then. I do like the rc hybrid looks and that woukd be eminently more sensible but as someone recently pointed out on this very thread, sensible should not be in the vocabulary of the serious bargiste!

I'd imagine the 600h would be a very nice barge.

an 08 plate, with 110,000 miles, with FSH and apparently all Lexus main dealer history, if that is a requirement for the warranty, for £11k.

The advert states it has dual zone climate control, and I'm pretty sure I see temperature readings next to the big blue dials?

You get the pre face-lift models with reasonable miles at anything from 10k or so up, and they will be even cheaper in a few years. I just think with a hybrid, buy as new as you can, and i would say the face-lift 13 on models have a slightly nicer interior....who knows where they will be a couple of years from now?

Should have a switch between the dials

Looks just like this one, which doesn't have A/C! https://www.mtsv.co.uk/info/s124200tess.htm

The GS battery seems to hold up well, I believe it uses the same cells as a Prius. You (or a suitable professional) can basically check each cell individually and replace the duff ones with ones out of another unit, eg a newer, written off or parted out model. So i wouldn't be overly concerned about the hybrid bit as it ages, its the other bit's you should worry about.

Totes lush, get one.

Health check is done as part of Lex service or is £59 standalone and until 15 years old they'll warrant the hybrid bits for the next year. Call your closest dealer and check about the FLSH bit, I don't think it applies anymore, I think its just some dealers trying it on tbh, they do the. Checks and if all good, they'll stand by it.
