This could potentially be a nice car.
Doesn't mention why the seller was given the car (presumably some kind of work/or a yearly service) however a fresh battery and maybe a cheeky CR pro / MB V2.0 with RED 38 pin adapter could tell you why the SRS light is on.
A very oddly specced car. Base engine but has costly optional full leather interior (dash and doors) with two tone seats and electric reclining rear bench in a SWB (albeit the S280 was only available as a SWB). Someone obviously didn't care much about engine size but wanted a very nice interior. This could potentially be a nice car.

Such a pity MB have removed the flexibility of being able to choose whatever individual options you want and instead you only have a few "packages" to select from. It removes the fun of discovering examples like this which have a strange combination of options chosen by the original owner.

Maybe the first owner wanted the quietest and most comfortable way of getting about town.
I think the manufacturers might have grouped options together to (obviously) make people spend more, but also to make the cars more sellable in the used market.
Some of the wackier specs must have been a real hassle to move on once they’d been traded in.

People who do things like that should not be allowed to live.More positively, earlier today, I saw & test drove the X-Type estate (bargey enough?) currently being fettled by fellow PHer Gallons Per Mile. Hoping to make the deal in October when his family has finished borrowing it, and I expect to have a need of a "doesn't matter too much" car for carrying buiding materials, and tip runs.

Is this the one that was leaking oil? That's the one; yes it is, but hopefully it won't be by October.
Why, will it all have left the car by then? Must be thick stuff. Why has no one bought this 5.5 E500 yet? Yes it’s a repost, it looks good.

And this XF with thread connections is also appealing with the work done, yet other cars go and this does not. Car buyers are weird.

Any thread experience with the R class Merc?
It'll be a year or two yet probably, but they definitely are coming down to a 'northern working man' price point.
Very, very difficult to find a petrol though, compared to an abundance of diseasels.
It'll be replacing my W211 when that finally gives up the ghost.
Knowing my luck, it'll go on, and on, and on!
