Has anyone ever experienced anything like this guy?

https://www.youtube.com/@AUDITTHEDEALER/videos

He walks into car dealerships with cameras to see what sort of a reaction he gets, but then claims to be performing a consumer service, rating dealerships on whether they humour him or throw him out. Looking at some of the videos, humouring him for a while until he goes on his way looks to be the best option, but he seems to be odd and have an inflated opinion of his importance.

He has a further channel where he goes trying to film in places such as migrant hotels to get a reaction as well.

Isn't this just an offshoot of the "Police Auditers" ?

ETA I think there are some mental health issues.

Yeah, basically losers.

They find silly little rules in the law like "I'm allowed to film here" and use it to harass people.

Can you imagine waking up and deciding that's what you'd like to do today.

We escorted him off the premises. He was wandering in to offices and being a general pain in the arse.

Anything for the likes though eh?

I thought the so-called auditors that stood outside offices and factories trying to provoke a reaction were bad enough, but this guy's on another level or irritation!

There seems to be a lack of discounts on new ICE cars at the moment, this is on commodity German run arounds, nothing special/exclusive or limited. One dealer was honest enough, or at least gave the excuse that they're not making their legal quota of EVs and having to discount those heavily to shift them, but not needing to offer discounts on ICE stuff to maintain margin and manage the EV/ICE ratio. Bit of a shocker to me. I can't quite get my head around the dealers not being able to sell as many (ICE) cars as they can to avoid the fines for not selling enough EVs!

Whilst I fully understand that's the law now, it's created a very odd market. Unless I wanted to get a bargain EV I guess. I wonder if the dealers & manufacturers will push back. I'd have expected more complaining or news about this, unless it's just hitting in Q2 with the EV/ICE sales requirements etc.

Anyone from the trade see/feel this?

It's even worse than that! Many brands now will not pay volume bonus unless the dealer achieves the correct proportionate mix. This could be worth significant 6 figure sums for a large dealer, much less a group.

We are seeing ICE stock being hidden/held by the manufacturer with only EV stock showing available and where we are required to display an ICE car in showrooms the manufacturer "Blocks" its registration for a considerable period to prevent it from being sold.

The fines that would apply to the manufacturer (in our brands case) are £15,000 per car sold over the required mix.

Just bonkers. What right does he think he has to walk on private property and film members of staff who have not consented to it? The receptionist practically can't just get up and leave her station for an extended period of time. The idea that consent is something that is implied and has to be taken away, rather than the other way around where he has to ask for permission first is nuts.

As said above imagine waking up and deciding this is what you were going to do today - just wasting people's time.

Just another one of these auditors who go out of their way to get a reaction so they can film it and upload it to their YouTube site.

I agree that most of them seem to have some sort of mental issues.

However, things I have learnt :

1)A lot of police don't know the law with regards to filming in public
2)A lot of police don't know that you can fly a drone under 250g pretty much anywhere
3)A lot of security guards don't think they need to show their SIA badge and that they can restrain and search people at will.

|For that particular guy, arse that he is, I think humouring him by giving him a free pen, a quick tour of a few cars and then sending him on his way is probably going to get him fewer views, rather than kicking off and then risking your particular dealership getting any negative publicity.

Nearly 800 videos, looks to average about 30 minutes per video.

Think how much of his life he's wasting to get around 5000 views per video (a couple get close to 30k), so maybe £5 a video?

He also travels all round the UK, the couple I clicked on, one was in Slough, the other Leeds!

I'm still struggling with the fact that someone does this "I'm doing an audit", "there are parts on the floor", "that undertray is on the floor", "there are no wing protectors", what an absolute throbber he is.

One of the comments made me chuckle though, comparing him to Louie Spence, if you've ever heard Louie Spence speak, you'll know!

THIS YES THIS

He's a complete see you next Tuesday unfortunately though his videos do make decent viewing.

He makes a big issue of dealers with NO solar panels on the roof due to the environmentals yet hoons around like a xxxx in a tuned Golf R. "iconic Golf R"

He's a complete liar too.

I'd love to see him come a cropper.

What kind of living do these annoying folks make from these videos?

Sooner or later the laws will be changed.

I agree, he'd HATE this.

He uses his camera to provoke people.

Imagine following him around with a really elaborate sales pitch.

"Here is where we service and maintain the cars to the highest standard, all of our technicians are the best in the business. Oh, this is the showroom, here we have the new model of T-Roc which I'm sure your viewers would love"

Crikey, that's just nuts. What's that going to do to profit and volume?!? I guess it will just limit the ICE availability, if anything it looks like new ICE will become scarce. Surely the groups & manufacturers can't wear years of this, especially as I think they're all still geared up for majority ICE production.... Or is the global impact lesser, and the UK has just imposed another sanction on itself?!
