Looks like you can get an almost new ST with virtually no miles for £25k ish. Add these mods and looks like decent package for the money although I'd want to clarify exactly what the warranty situation was.
wouldn't suprise me as they're about £27k new after discounts. I'd have thought the standard manufacturer warranty would transfer would it not?csampo said:

It being "mountuned" means the warranty if toast effectively - Ford has not manufacturer approved it like it has previous cars/tuning packs such as the FPM375 for the MK3 RSlee_erm said:

I30N trumps this both in looks and quality and fit/finish overall. The Hyundai warranty as usual is second to none.
These type of Ford scream Sports Direct sleeveless top, crap tatts (on a shaved head) fake RayBans or Oakleys and 2.4children..
I've had both an i30 and a MK4 Focus as pool cars for weeks at a time. The quality and general fit and finish of the Focus was better, it feels like a much higher quality item in-fact. I've had Golfs too, the Focus and Golf are on a par I'd say. These type of Ford scream Sports Direct sleeveless top, crap tatts (on a shaved head) fake RayBans or Oakleys and 2.4children..
That's an opinion based on actual experience which is at odds with the commonly held PH forum go'er belief that Fords are built like tin cans. Of all those worn out cliched beliefs on PH, it's arguably the most worn out and yawn inducing.
The 7 year warranty you get on the Hyundai is great. But don't forget a piece of crap with a 7 year warranty is still a piece of crap

I like it that it has a single exhaust on each side of the car.
I would never consider buying a Golf R, unless I could find a workshop who could cut off one of those stupid looking exhaust tips off each side of the car, before I drove it on the road.
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this whenever I see an R. What the hell were they thinking? Take a car with as conservative styling as a Golf, and then just bung on as many exhaust pipes as cylinders! I have exactly the same issue with other cars - Audi S3 etc. They all look very wrong to me.I would never consider buying a Golf R, unless I could find a workshop who could cut off one of those stupid looking exhaust tips off each side of the car, before I drove it on the road.

Apologies - didn't read the original post properly and thought the quesiton was whether a nearly new would carry the same warranty as a new car. The m330 will clearly toast the warranty if not explicitly approved - and the fact mountune are not shouting about it clearly indicates that no such agreement is in place. If it were I'd have it straight away; as it's not I won't.SuperSonicSloth said:

I do wonder how many owners will snap it up thinking it's approved - the article does skirt around it.Whatever has happened at Mountune with Ford has changed the advantage they had - they have also started up tuning VW's now as well, I guess they've tried to plan ahead.
For me buying the RS and then having the FPM375 fitted was a no-brainer running alongside the extended warranty I had - be rude not to lol

Wash your mouth out, the Escort was stylish, not bland at all.
I think he was referring to the evolution of the Escort. Agree Mk 1 and Mk 2 Escorts are not bland (and arguably Mk 3/4s) but Mk 5/6s certainly were.aaron_2000 said:
The front end looks nice, but the rest of the body and the interior are just so generic. I couldn't spend any period of time in that interior, it might actually be worse than the Leon. It's a shame the Focus has ended up bland like the Escort.

Thanks. Very tempting if a large discount can be had.
No large discounts yet but decent deals out there:https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Whereas this post screams judgmental and presumptuous...
Are these STs available as an estate?
Yes they are, here's mine and I am very pleased with it! I've ordered M330 and with a bit of luck it'll arrive by the weekend. Mountune have confirmed that the upgrade is not warranty friendly, which is a shame. However, I have used their products extensively on my previous car and was more than happy with the quality, therefore I've decided to take a calculated risk. Are these STs available as an estate?

Yeah, about £4.5k discount via broker from memory. That price includes the metallic blue, detachable towbar, wireless charging and performance pack too. Totally swung it for us given it's a daily. List prices are complete nonsense.
Yes, we got a similar discount using Carwow.G.Fraser said:

You can’t get an estate version of the CTR or a tow bar. That said the CTR is an awesome bit of kit and I’d happily gave one! Bloomin’ kids...
The engines are fine and used in the Mustang and the Mk3 RS. Well documented engine issues with the latter were due to the incorrect head gasket being fitted. The engine in the Mk4 RS is more similar to the unit used in the Mustang anyway.
