A broken Renault owned by a giant dustman - excellent!
Is he a jolly (fluorescent) green giant or is it a Father Ted/Dougal cow perspective?

You can't see it very well in the first photo, but the second one will show that he has 'AA' on the vest. So is probably a good honest person who helps people deal with their drinking addictions.

Who ever is selling that is now getting 17 views per hour due to us all clicking on the link. Way more clicks than any other shagged out Omega. He must be thinking he's going to get a sale soon and that he may have priced too low.laugh

If I was in the market for a dodgy Range Rover Sport, I'd avoid that just for the lack of punctuation and the spelling.

How cringeworthy some people are. Much better than that pcp'd BMW would be a huge pile of cash in the backgroundbiggrin
Is the watch forum the weirdest place on PH?

I was only looking at Omega’s because I couldn’t sleep and Road Wars was on TV laugh. I suspect that the misfire isn’t the only reason it’s not got an MOT either.

I do wonder if there would be any difference in the enthusiasm of those men if the time telling feature was actually removed.

Do they wander about sneaking an admiring peek at other men's wrist jewellery?

No difference in liking watches to liking cars as far as I can see - the cheapest models do essentially the same job as the most expensive ones.

I agree, wearing a watch you like is no different to having wheels you like on your car, or a paintjob, sports exhaust etc

I disagree, that depends on how you define the 'job' of the respective items.

If the job of a car is getting from A to B as quickly as possible and having as much fun as possible, then a Corsa doesn't do the same job as an Elise.

If the job is getting someone to work dry then the Corsa might win.

If the job of a watch is telling the time then a Casio beats a Breitling. Given that a watch doesn't have much else of a function...

But the job the watch has to do can be just as varied - hence why we have dive watches, field watches, aviator watches, chronographs, gmts, dress watches, g-shocks etc.

Admiring a Ferrari which can do 201mph isn't much different to admiring a Seadweller which will keep perfect time a mile under the water. I'm unlikely to need either, and a Corsa and a Casio will do the same basic function of each, but I know which I'd prefer to own.

Houses are just for keeping the rain off, clothes are just to maintain your dignity, cooking is just for providing sustenance, cameras are just for taking pictures...

Functional/utility to one person, more than that to enthusiasts.
