Seems like a homage to the Tom Hartley adverts. Sadly the end result makes it look like it’s been abandoned in a lake full of algae.

Any takers? The selection of the first photo is particularly brilliant. But then the fact that its headlining is still up might be greatest selling feature...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vw-golf-mk2-1-6-with-1-...

Has been bid up to a giddy £11.46 at the moment!

This one popped up whilst searching for MG ZR parts - been changed since, but it was originally the main / only photo on the advert laugh

Think that it is a classic - looks to me like it is the rare version with flow through ventilation in the floorpan.

Are those rear tyres even seated on the rim? I can't see how they can hold air.

Great idea for a thread.

These photos are almost industry standard on detailing forums, but to everyone else it just looks weird. Like the watch people who have staged photos with other very expensive objects conspicuously in the backgroundhehe
That really happens?!?!

Go on, you need to post a sample pic for sts, giggles, and general pisstaking

hehe

A car known for poor rustproofing that has spent heaven knows how long sitting up to its axles in wet mud and foliage. I dread to think how bad that is underneath.

You'll probably find big parts of the floorpan have returned to the earth, or will at least stay there when it's towed out.

I wouldnt be surprised if when that thing is towed out the body comes away from the undercarriage in some kind of hilarious cartoon fashion. Leaving the running gear and bottom half exactly where it is as it's now become one with the foliage.
