Alfa - Punani
BMW - Labia Majora

I'll take the Alfa. They should launch a model called the Minjita. It would sell.

Kinda makes my X4M Comp look really pretty....to me at least tongue out

The X4M has the same engine as the new M4 and it’s not bad although crap noise

I'd say the S58 sounds great far better than the S55 and much more of an M engine in its response, although the X4M is still the ugly duckling compared the the X3M as that coupe SAV style just doesn't work for me.

The S58 is a great engine although a do drive in sport plus most of the time as I find there’s a bit of delay in response at low rpm in comfort.
I prefer the X4M looks as I find the X3M a bit too boxy looking.

The engine should be amazing in the M4. The exhaust note is too quiet apart from at cold startup in sport plus

BMW have form in that respect, the E90 M3 had the same front end as the E92 M3, but the normal E90 kept the original design with just minor changes even after LCI updates. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the new M3 gets this front end treatment whilst the rest of the range remains as it is with just minor changes like updated headlight designs come LCI time. Hopefully the 4 series LCI will do something to tone this down a bit!
This had crossed my mind too. There's a very good chance this front will be grafted onto the M3 saloon. eek

Having recently bought an F30 BMW, I am quite happy seeing these new cars from BMW. They look so crap that I have absolutely no desire to upgrade and will be able to feel quite happy driving around in my F30 for a long time!

Sorry but I really can't comprehend how anyone would think that looks good.

You're a brave man - posting a pic of that on here!

wink Kudos for iconoclastically swimming against the PH Tide and buying one though (not my cup of tea, but I certainly respect the car's performance).

To me this new M4 is gopping, but then a neighbour has an X7 and it doesn't actually look that bad - in fact, to my mind, the GLS is uglier (mostly because its even more gargantuan); another neighbour has a new 7-series and its not terrible in person either.

Case in point, IMO it 'looks' better than a Land Rover and is certainly not as twee as a Bini.

Agree, that's the car to use as starting point, if you need a bit more classic inspiration, take some design elements of this one in consideration

I hope that's a photoshop.....as that is John Surtees old 507, and I do hope the new owner hasn't resorted to putting such a hideous set of wheels on John's old car!!

2. this was the perfect opportunity to use this styling for the front - which would have been amazing! I really wish they had made this car.

If BMW had use the above front end styling, it still would have been wrong to most on here.

I think it is safe to say that the 4 series is not a looker.

Broke a fair few branches of the ugly tree on the way down.

Well they've done what many thought couldn't be done. Made the hideous even worse. This has all the visual appeal of a Gorgon. One that's been left to rot in the sun. Why can't BMW design classy, smart looking cars any more? Simple lines with detailed touches make a better design than a monstrous grille and silly vents.

My simple brain is unable to cope with change. I have a chip on my shoulder. I have never seen or driven this car but I’ve decided I don’t like it, and will therefore project my insecurities and shortcomings onto everyone else.

Or I might wait and see what it looks and drives like before spitting my dummy out. Haven’t decided yet.
Had a bad morning? No good if you cant get past the dreadful looks though is it - nothing to do with "insecurities and shortcomings".
