Finally purchased my first dateless plate, 18 UE. I believe was the cheapest 2x2 for sale.
Looking forward to putting it on a car and maybe a decent long term investment?
Can anybody please shine light on when it was issued? Thanks

BTC 500X is up to more than £35000 in the current auction.
What am I missing about why someone is prepared so much for it?
I did wonder if it was British Touring car related but BTC 1X only went for £2780 last year.

Thanks for that, yes it is an English plate, I thought that the reverse single D's were issued in the 1953 to 1962 year range so being a 1957 vehicle it might have been on there from new (even if the plate had been issued earlier then transferred)
As Oxford Drinker says above, reverse D was issued between July and the end of August 1964. This would therefore have been issued at the beginning of that period. So, it's a show plate, or much less likely it was acquired as a private plate before export. Mr Squarekins said:

If that price is true it is ridiculous. I don’t even know what it is - kiss this?
Is it Keith's plate maybe? Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
