I may be wrong, but I don't think that rule applies any more...

"While the car you're taking the private plate from doesn't need to have an MOT, it must be able to move under its own power, and must have been taxed or been SORN'd for the last five years. The DVLA may also need to inspect your car before approving or turning down your application"
Interesting thanks. I wonder what defines under its own power! Makes it more grey than when it was MOT only!

10 ED On an immaculate looking e60 330i, £2600 in 1995 seems like tremendous value!

This was taken at Rudding Park near Harrogate so not too far away from Leeds.

Pinched this from Reddit - can anyone in the know shed some light on this type of plate?

I thought at first it was a foreign plate which was made in the U.K., but perhaps it’s an oddity like a diplomat plate or similar?

Unsurprisingly it doesn’t come up with anything if you check the number...

Has someone got confused with the VIN Plate and the Number Plate when getting them made up? lol

Apparently it's a Royal Mail tracking number and only a £100 fine

I'm guessing that is an E90 3 series, an E60 is a 5 series

Saw a little dark red Kia/Hyundai thing coming the other way when I was driving this morning in Wimbledon. I thought, "hmm, that plate looks short". As it passed me, it confirmed that it was indeed a short plate - 6T eek

2017 Hyundai i10 - another one where the plate is worth much more than the car!
