BP : P1
looked nice with a shortened plate, but what is strange after a google is that BP is used by Bundespolizei, fedaral german police, and im in north wales!!
It isn’t uncommon for UK owners of German cars to make German style plates with a UK number.

I’ve looked it up and there’s no BPP1 in the UK. Could it have been something similar?

Was it LHD?

That was probably me, and it was probably 1986 when the current Irish plate system made its debut.

Prior to that it was possible, under certain circumstances to transfer an Irish plate to a UK vehicle. That route was then closed.

If an Irish plate made it to the UK prior to that date then it can be freely sold/transferred.

If you're wanting to transfer one now, even if the pre 86 format then you have more chance of 1 AN becoming transferable.
Ok thanks, always want the unobtanium me
If you ever come across someone with that for sale, let me know - thanks!

Spotted in Woolacombe. I could understand if the numbers and letters were misspaced, but they're not.
