^^^ The Riga plate, a number of countries are now permitting the (almost) "anything you like" approach to plates.
I saw a Belgian plate on an non-descript black SUV in Lux this morning which showed "MARCELLO", as a whole word, because they can.
Australia also offer most options I'm told but a friend who now lives out there. They just check nobody already has it.I saw a Belgian plate on an non-descript black SUV in Lux this morning which showed "MARCELLO", as a whole word, because they can.

Yes, in Belgium you can buy a personalised plate for 1000 euros and admin fees. Can use any number/letter combo up until 8 digits, as long as it is not offensive or political related.I saw a Belgian plate on an non-descript black SUV in Lux this morning which showed "MARCELLO", as a whole word, because they can.

To my mind, DVLA is missing a trick here. You should be able to buy whatever you liked - so long as it's not offensive, and can't be confused with something already issued - and then pay an annual fee to keep it. It's not something you can sell, if you stop paying it reverts to DVLA. simonrockman said:

DVLA states the car was exported in 2012.
Can I request the DVLA to make the plate available again? If the car returned to the UK, wouldn't it be reissued with the original registration mark prior to the mark I put on it?

Spotted today on a convoy of three identical silver Rolls Royce Phantoms travelling along the M6. At the front was a matching Phantom hearse, also with a “1” plate but I can’t remember what it was. Four silver Phantoms made for quite a sight however!
Also today..
1 MTK (I think) on a Porsche of some description,
SUH 2 on an old V70.
36 SB the other day on a little Land Rover of some sort.

The company has something like 9 hearses, along with 25(?) normal Phantoms. Crazy.
That'll be part of the AW Lymn fleet from Nottingham.
They have a lot of nice plates (and cars).

Not sure. I’m sure it had an E in it somewhere. Definitely the same firm though, they all had the same logos as that either side of the plate. smithyithy said:

I generally like all 911s, old and new, but my God..Look how pretty that little thing is compared to the brand new 992-gen in the background!
The road is right by Windsor castle, a small two-bed house currently for sale at £1.3M, needless to say, there was quite a lot of nice metal along that short road. But from all the other Porsche's, G63's, FFRR, AMG black, etc, this car was the only one people stopped to look at!
