I was wondering what is the best way to buy a real good number plate privately?

Obviously the seller isn't going to hand over the plate until they receive the money, and the buyer will be reluctant to hand over the cash fearing the seller will do a runner!

Can solicitors handle these type of transactions?

Saw a couple of white Rolls Royces in convoy today, 40 UX on the Phantom and 69 HJ on the Dawn convertible, I may have had a slight snigger at the second one.

Yes solicitors can and do.
Or a dealer.
Or meet in person like if you were buying a car privately.

In a CCTVd bank lobby where you can pay the cash in with the person next to you?

This isn’t correct as CX is a regular issue for North Wales in the current system
As is "RX" around here and "EX" in Essex

I saw a Porsche EV today in Milton Keynes with the numberplate "2OO" (numeral "2" followed by letters "OO").

The reg looked good, but unfortunately it had a narrow plate that looked a bit wky.

Iconic car and all that but £60k? Jeez, that's some strong money.

Ohh... I'd liked that for my little collection....yes
I read and looked at your reply a few times thinking why would you want that?
Penny just dropped. Didn’t see it first time around smile

I have seen it again though. Think it might be 9 MWM. Red Polo. Might be a fixing point that make it look like an 8 from a distance.

I often find plates and wonder whether PH would find them distasteful or "real good."

I was perusing the regtransfers website and saw both "RLY 600D" and "TOO 600D" both up for sale.

Wondered which PH thought was better.

Also thinking about buying "CHE 8P" to put on my car as its only a 1 series coupe 135i but I'll have spent 15-20k in mods on it so kind of ironic as plates not cheap either.

8 MWM on Polo today and this I pass most mornings.

Maybe I'm missing something but not sure what's special about either of those... 8 MWM may actually look good / read as BMW M if it was on a M car biggrin
