Real Good Number Plates Vol. 6
Discussion
My apologies if this is the wrong thread, please redirect if a more suitable one exists. I'm looking for a suitable number plate for my car, primarily to de-age it and have a couple of questions / observations:
1. All the private number companies seem to have the same numbers for sale, is there a central database they all share?
2. Are they in fact all the same company behind the scenes (check out all the M&B pub brands under the same company but with a different look and feel for the individual websites, Miller and Carter, Ember Inns, Vintage Inns, etc.)?
3. Is there a screen scraper site that'll check all the sites rather than searching a dozen websites individually (and finding the same numbers)?
4. I have a MG ZT 260, so was attracted by the (relatively) cheap availability of V8 - - - plates, but can't find anything suitable for the car (or of less interest me), obviously anything MG related has gone or is reserved for auction and it being a ZT doesn't help with Z being un-used in mainland UK.
5. DVLA is obviously the first place to check and at the end of the day I could just get a cheap plate but finding a 'good' one - ugh!
6. So.... if anyone's bored it's a MG ZT 260 with a V8 4.6 engine, VIN 442 (as less than 1000 made they're referred to by last three digits of the VIN)!

Well 442 refers to an Oldsmobile in my book, so I don't think with those will be available ... that leaves even less to choose from.RATATTAK said:

I almost bought 470 once.. at least, I think it was 470… it was an X-Power grey ZTT, non-SE. I’ve never had a 260 but I think they’d be a good giggle. Dashnine said:
442 is one of the thee letter & three number sequences available on DVLA (e.g. MGZ 442 but that ones gone) however plenty more are available. Not quite sure why for some numbers there are lot of letter combinations available (in 442 for example) but in others, 260 for example - none.

Saw a very interesting PAT 5Y on one of those little Toyota’s I think, the Aygo? going towards Chislehurst in Kent..
"PAT 5Y" Sold for £11500 + the bits in November 98.LARK F1 GTR said:
I believe the PAT 5Y plate was owned by Patsy Palmer (Bianca from Eastenders) I'm not sure if she still has it as I don't think she lives in the UK anymore.
To think " B14 NCA " Sold for £5K and " R1 CKY " £34K both + the bits in 1998 they would have looked good parked up in Albert Square....Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
