You all know I have posted photos - what exactly is your problem?

Especially cerb4.5lee who seems to be a multiple BMW diesel tractor owner! rolleyes

I like N/A petrol engines with manual gearboxes - but they obviously don't suit everyone.

Buy whatever you like, but don't post details on here if you don't want to get abuse from people like this. bigmouth

Don't worry Mr Tidy, for all his talk about weight, lack of torque and desire for a manual transmission we all know cerb secretly covets a DCT E93 M3. biggrin
Very good! hehe

Fair enough - all good with me. thumbup

I probably do get a bit carried away with it as I've only had it 6 months and it's by far the most exciting car I've ever had. rolleyes
So apologies for any over-enthusiasm.

Hopefully nobody will post about throttle response or trying to tell me why I should have bought a Subaru Legacy. laugh

I assume the question is :

Why do people buy Ferraris?.

There are excellent reasons of course, but I would think a Ferrari is a performance car despite no manualsmile

I never got all this palaver. I have spent much of my life with three pedal cars...I now have one left. Understand that people like fly fishing..not to catch fish but to have a skill. Equally people like manual. Fair enough.Nothing to so with track performance of course. So it is just the experience you want.

Not right or wrong.

For me, I am happy to hammer the hell out of a PDK car on track. also happy to use a manual.

It’s baffling that this has dragged on so long, when it’s obvious that one isn’t better than the other - like many things, it’s a case of different strokes for different folks

Auto Vs Manual is one of them topics that will have endless arguments all over the internet, some alien species in a distant planet are probably having the same discussions right now..

My take up on it is that yes modern autos are rapid and a pleasure to use, particularly if you are living in congested cities and / or are a lazy baxtard w/ dodge knees etc..

Manuals however are not all the same, in the same way autos come in various guises from downright nasty to cutting edge refinement and sharpness, manuals too vary in quality. A concise precision mechanical box is not a cheap item itself (most decent boxes will cost a 5 figure sum from the manufacturer) - several manufacturers have made amazing manual transmission boxes - Honda, Subaru, Nissan...
The moment a driver depresses the clutch that’s the engagement with the entire car itself to set it on a forward motion, no auto box can fully replicate the control and precision than can be got from a manual box - that’s why some drivers prefer them and they will always have a place in the automotive world

Manuals no good you say...
