I just had a squint at the classifieds for these - surprised how good the residuals are. Retains more than half their value at 3 years old and most are around £2 per mile depreciation. Compared to other expensive inefficient cars this is not too bad (the previous ownership of my 760 saw £5 per mile).

I'm not sure I could find a car more objectionable if I tried, I just don't see what they bring to the table other than an individuals ability to flash the cash. They don't look very nice, they're unbelievably expensive, thirsty, and heavy. Meh. I'd sooner buy a RR and save £100k+ and people will like you more to boot

Erm - you brought up American roads.
Yes I did because this car isn't just made to be sold in one country. Your point is?

I don't think that's true, not right now anyway.

Bentley dealers are offering horrendous trade prices with spreads of approx £20k, plus you're probably forgetting most of these cars have at least £40k worth of options.

My car is a year old. I was offered 60% of its new price by Bentley for a swap a few weeks back.

They're incredibly comfortable.

Smooth as silk to drive and have gorgeous interiors way above those found in a RR for example.

They are a bit of a "fk you peasant" kinda car I agree; it's the only downside really.

These seem to be for people who must have a Bentley no matter how ugly they make it. Pal of mine saw one and asked if it was a Skoda!

The fact you don't have the FFRR with to without the £100k change shows why you wouldn't consider the Bentley if you could.

What you probably don't appreciate is that they're are just pocket money for some people.
They are no more objectionnable than say a RR when you can save £30k by choosing a Touareg or whatever. Where does it end?
Different people have different budgets.

Funnily enough, I had a V12 Bentayga from new when they were released. I couldn't stand it. Sold it at a ludicrous loss and bought the car I wish I'd bought in the first place (and that I still have)...a FFRR.

This update won't be tempting me back to the Bentayga either.

The question is, are Bentley actually capable of designing anything that’s remotely good looking?

It's weird how when a new model is launched, the old one actually looks a little better.

I actually don't mind this, but the older one seems beefier in comparison.

Or perhaps more prosaically, and that's just a wild guess, looks and design are subjective. I quite like it.

I think it looks quite a bit better than the previous iteration. I still can't afford one and if I had the money and wanted something like this I think I'd buy a Range Rover but it is nicer than it was.

What was so bad about it? I doubt il ever be in a position to own one but from the ‘outside looking in’ it seems like it would be a brilliant all round vehicle and certainly on my lottery list.

I don’t think anything shouts “get out of my way peasants” quite like a Bentayga and yet secretly I like it getmecoat

Not sure on the rear lights though, think the pre-facelifts were nicer. Bet it is a awesome family GT, if I were well off chap I would take this with a set of winters on for the journey down to the family chateau for the annual ski trip over flying!

20,000 sales is massive for Bentley and I hope they continue to be sales hit for them.

Indeed they are! In my case however, the problem sorts itself out. I couldn’t afford to run one anyway. rofl

All that quilted interior makes me think it needs a draft beer tap and a cigar room. Definitely of no interest.
