RE: Ferrari F8 Spider | PH Review

I'd still take a 458 over this and the 488.
Totally agree. There are some parts I really like on the car, but overall it's a bit fussy. Not sure I have ever liked a Ferrari in yellow, the back end..well, it just looks a bit Elise like to me. I can't quite put my finger on any one area, but it's just a little off. cayman-black said:

That interior really is a dog’s dinner.
I disagree that is the right colour to put with a yellow exterior, love it. With a write up like that these should drop like a stone.I've seen a berlinetta in the flesh and, like so many modern cars, it looked better than the pictures although still can't get on with the rear deck on these. Nice to see an honest review. Holds up to what I have suspected for some time; Ferrari have fallen off the pace a little recently. Shame it's the last Ferrari we'll see on PH for a while though!!
FWIW, I have one on order, blu corsa with crema interior to sit alongside my 488 GTB and I cannot wait. I love the look, the performance and all the rest. If I wanted a McLaren, I could have one of those as well but I don’t. I’m not stupid. High depreciation and a dismal ownership proposition from a company which may or may not stay around to support it.
Quite a few here complaining about the 488, just like the article's author. That can be explained by disappointed McLaren fan boys seeing their marque stare into the abyss of insolvency. Or, just simpleton complainers. I will note that Ferrari, in many parts attributable to the entire 488 line, is currently a screaming commercial success. (Check the entity's market capitalization if you doubt this). Maranello is hitting on as many cylinders as their vehicles have with a clear message to customers: pay and enjoy. Others can admire or complain.

Too many opinions from people who will probably never see one for real ... never mind buy one.
So you can't give an opinion on aesthetics unless you own or have access to a thing? I know what you mean in a way, a physical representation will always provide a much fuller meaning of what a designer was trying to achieve, but this is a discussion forum about cars. I've only owned a few hundred over the years can I only comment on them?I was referring to the posters who just go by looking at a few, often compressed, photos of a car and then wading in with their opinions.
I was at the launch of the F8 Spider in Maranello and at the UK launch of the F8 Tributo ... seeing them for real for a good amount of time, walking round them and taking in all the details makes all the difference when evaluating the looks of a car.

I agreed with that in my post man. But of all you have to go on is a picture, what ya gonna do? I think its stunning I was at the launch of the F8 Spider in Maranello and at the UK launch of the F8 Tributo ... seeing them for real for a good amount of time, walking round them and taking in all the details makes all the difference when evaluating the looks of a car.
