Funnily enough the PH review of the 458 had a very similar rear shot, here is the side by side for comparison.

For comparison:

Well, if you want one and can afford it, give your local friendly dealer a call.

For the first time in a long, long time, there are build slots on a new Ferrari available. I've been offered multiple in the last few weeks.

The market doesn't seem all that fussed about the F8, like the 488 before it.

Lots of 488 owners smarting at the depreciation; "a disaster" was what. my dealer called it.

I just feel meh about both cars.

Not overly keen on the looks, the 458 was prettier. But that 355 is better than all.
What I don't like is the comment that an interior is bad and dated because we are used to it. Does familiarity really breed contempt that much? I do agree that it's badly designed, though.

One's by Pininfarina, the other by the Ferrari inhouse design team. I know which one I prefer.

Yes the F8 due to side scoops and twin rear lights.

The 458 is bland and only looks nice in Speciale form. Likewise the 488 only looks good in Pista form. The F8 looks good in ordinary form because it is basically a Pista without stripes although it improves upon the Pista with the rear lights and more pronounced spoiler lip.

As a man from that generation, i love the 355, I know what a challenge grill is all about but I appreciate the 458's functional design and would probably say it (the 458) has the greater presence in person and from behind the wheel.

I'd rather take a beating from the McLaren depreciation gods and have a 720S Spider than this.
To be fair, its got the similar pace as a 12c spider or 650 spider...at the price they are now, they are pretty near the end of their depreciation curve...so why not have something at a third of the price that's perhalps better...the 720 still has plenty of eye watering depreciation left in it.

Agreed on design comments. They have thrown basically the kitchen sink at it and looks as equally bad as the Pista.

Also agree on the F355 spider comments. That was the last pretty Ferrari spider and i ran 2 over a continuous 14 year period; however, as pretty as it was, it was a happy day when the new owner took it away. Driving with your fingers crossed and ears on full alert to any 'new' noises take the shine off journeys.

IMO overstyled in and out

Look how clean the 458 is

Maybe we thought that when the 458 was released and this F8 will be a grower..

I wish Ferrari would stop shoving 84 buttons on the wheel - makes it look like a PS4 wheel !
