RE: Ferrari F8 Spider | PH Review
Discussion
Well, if you want one and can afford it, give your local friendly dealer a call.
For the first time in a long, long time, there are build slots on a new Ferrari available. I've been offered multiple in the last few weeks.
The market doesn't seem all that fussed about the F8, like the 488 before it.
Lots of 488 owners smarting at the depreciation; "a disaster" was what. my dealer called it.
I just feel meh about both cars.

Funnily enough the PH review of the 458 had a very similar rear shot, here is the side by side for comparison.
One's by Pininfarina, the other by the Ferrari inhouse design team. I know which one I prefer. Edited by chelme on Friday 3rd July 12:05
The 458 is bland and only looks nice in Speciale form. Likewise the 488 only looks good in Pista form. The F8 looks good in ordinary form because it is basically a Pista without stripes although it improves upon the Pista with the rear lights and more pronounced spoiler lip.

I'd rather take a beating from the McLaren depreciation gods and have a 720S Spider than this.
To be fair, its got the similar pace as a 12c spider or 650 spider...at the price they are now, they are pretty near the end of their depreciation curve...so why not have something at a third of the price that's perhalps better...the 720 still has plenty of eye watering depreciation left in it.Agreed on design comments. They have thrown basically the kitchen sink at it and looks as equally bad as the Pista.
Also agree on the F355 spider comments. That was the last pretty Ferrari spider and i ran 2 over a continuous 14 year period; however, as pretty as it was, it was a happy day when the new owner took it away. Driving with your fingers crossed and ears on full alert to any 'new' noises take the shine off journeys.
