That’s just utterly bonkers. Interesting driving style too how he adjusts his hands a lot.

I suspect it would/will break the records you’re mentioning, has done away with a decent chunk of the weight and has clearly been optimised for the track. With 1500hp and four wheel drive you’re deep into new territory - they used the rule book to stop cars getting like that for racing because they’re too fast...

In the vid with mischa posted in this thread the engineer daid 8-10 laps for a set of cup2R, and about 4 laps out the 100l tank. That will be quite some logistics to do a track day weekend with 😂 The Cup 2Rs are mega soft, even porsches can melt em down on a single track day. They are mostly suitable for time attack and specifically designed for manufacturers to set good times at the ring.

What’s the current target for a bog standard street car, was the SVJ last time I checked with 6’45ish, has someone husstled a McSenna around quicker since then?
still the quickest, mclaren don't like benchmaking their cars around the ring for some reason

the chiron would probably do it in the early 7's imo

They'll probably issue a press release that they've lapped it in 6:30 in this 'pre-production' model, but then all customer cars will be sold as 'inspired' by the record breaking model, and so have been artificially restricted to 7:15 (they'll have developed some GPS software that monitors the laptime, and begins to restrict power if it senses a potential lap that 'may' go a second or two faster). They will justify this by saying they no longer need to chase laptimes any more because they are just simply the best, and don't need to prove themselves to anyone for the rest of time. wink
