RE: Charger SRT is 'fastest saloon in the world'

I have read in various corners of the internet that the Challenger and Charger suffer from a worse than average reliability. i get the impression the poor reliability is putting a lot of people off getting one, or getting a second one.
My experience is different to this. I bought a new R/T Scat Pack Challenger in 2015. I absolutely loved everything about it, aside from one gripe. The OEM wheels and tires are too puny to handle the horsepower. 245/40/20 can't cope with 485hp/475lbft. I had one issue in the 3 1/2 years I owned it. The differential started groaning at about 10k miles. Turns out the hypoid lubricant installed during production was the wrong grade - the whole unit was replaced under warranty. In 2019 I chopped it in for a new Scat Pack Widebody. So far, faultless and now launches and grips like a motherfker, due to the much more appropriate 305/35's.

Buy and die. IMO 800 brake seems a lot to handle. I love 250ish and that's enough on a daily road.
I drove a MB with 615 and that was total madness.
250 - 300 in a lightish car is fun and useable but so is 7-800 in a saloon with good grip, 40-100 makes passing lots of fun (less useful in uk admittedly) I drove a MB with 615 and that was total madness.
there's not a single trip i make in ours where i dont use full power, it still makes me giggle like a kid, I wasnt expecting its fun factor to remain tbh when i got the GTC roadster but i still enjoy taking it out as much as ever, totally different but its so wrong that a big saloon is that quick.
But i think the dodge does ‘look’ like it should be that quick, a Mercedes taxi Doesnt

Those that delimited found that they couldn't get near that number but it did result in a fair few destroyed engines.
I know plenty that didn't, the destroyed engines were mainly through bad maps and/or poor maintenance. Leave the engine standard and delimit it and it will do 200mph+, assuming it was still in good shape. The BMW limiters were 155 or 190mph, so delimiting via them may have just replaced the former with the latter.

What else do I need to know? How do I get the power down to make that 800hp actually mean anything for a start. Power is nothing without control.
These have plenty of driver aids.2 levels of traction control + off.
Multiple settings for the shocks electronically.
Same for the steering.
Everything from pussycat level to full mental.

ours is only 2wd but with smaller rear tyres than the dodge but it is in no way too much of a handful, even in the wet it feels ‘ok’
