Apple Tree

Last year my tree was full to the brim with apples - a huge number
This year it looks to have very few - is it just me? Has my tree caught COVID or something?

It looks fine, same as every other year just hardly any apples?
Never put anything on it, just leave it to get on and it does just fine normally.
Any ideas?

Often happens, they exhaust themselves the previous year.

Also, we had the driest spring on record so I suspect the tree will have reduced fruiting to remove a stressor accordingly.

Feed it, mulch it, make sure it doesn't dry out.

Will be fine next year I'm sure.

As above, my trees are not consistent year by year. One that had nothing on last year I’ve just had to thin out (a bit late, I know). One of my most productive over the past two years looking very meagre, which is a shame as it has the nicer apples.

Ended up with an apple surplus last year so I guess it could do with a rest!

According to the previous owners of our place our tree has a good year every two years. Last year was just ridiculous and this years shaping up to be good too. They seem small so far but plentiful.

Yep, I've got 5 apple trees, one pear, two cherry, a quince(!) and a blackberry, they vary from 'What the flying fk am I going to do with all this fruit' to almost nothing.
