I've always liked the idea of an Evo X. It might not be the most loved Evo but would work better as a daily driver.

The only thing that puts me off is the size of the boot...though I haven't compared the boot to a 3-series or Lexus ISF [for instance] to actual see if it is a lot smaller. Anyone know?!

Photo of some TLC - having stuff renewed or repainted - these cars can give but they can also take away.....

It costs a lot, but it’s always exciting getting it back after some improvement work!

Can’t say I know much about the X, but the boot on my VI can fit my hockey goalkeeper bag which is huge. Could easily fit 5 people plus weekend away luggage.

Might be wrong but I believe the VI has a bigger boot than the X...I'll do some Googling!

Can't believe I'm talking boot size when chatting about an Evo. The X was positioned as an everyday car though I guess.

I do believe the rarest variant was the VI extreme of which 29 were made. at the time £41,995 along with a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty & consider it would get you to 60mph in 4 seconds and 100mph in another 6 thereafter....dead on.

26. And 4 of those were turned into the Extreme RS450

Sadly the VIII FQ 320 shown is not as advertised, it's an Evo VIII 260 with an interior swop. Wrong colour - black, bootlid with the "fin" hiding the centre section of the 260's smaller spoiler, indicator stalk on the left hand side, wrong speedo, wrong plaque by the gearstick...... I was the first owner (after CC UK) of the VIII MR FQ-320 number 79 and kept it for 7 years so I know what I'm talking about. This is not an MR in any way shape or form, so no bilsteins, no 5 ply head gasket, improved turbo waste gate (yeah I noticed the hybrid turbo) , or ally roof. The 5 speed box is stronger so a distant positive. New price £24k for a 260, £29k for a FQ320 back in 2004, hence the discussions on the MLR whether the 260 was a real Evo back in the day!

I had an Evo VI RSX years ago, often wonder how many of those are still about.

Happy owner of a TME. The only car I’ve owned that’s a keeper, which for me says a lot. Evo’s are a rare sight on the roads these days.

What colour have you got?

They are indeed rare! I've owned Evos for probably 10 years and I reckon can still count on my hands the amount I've passed on the roads.

A white one. Did a bit of research on the car and it is a bit of a mongrel biggrin First registered July 2000 in the UK but not one of the official 250 UK cars. Spoke the Jon Kirkham about it (really helpful bloke) as he was part of Ralliart back in the day. My car is one of the cars Ralliart bought and imported brand new to sell as the UK allocation sales were going really well so they wanted more cars sell. Couple of owners ago spent a small fortune on it. Some might say that is sacrilege and should of kept it standard but I love the car as it is.

I own an Evo VI and remember being passed by a family in a red TME on the A69 in circa 2006/7 just east of Corbridge - only one I’ve seen in the wild whilst driving mine

I've got a UK VIII fq-300 that I bought in 2005. Had a random chap knock on my door 2 weeks ago, we had a brief chat and he offered £12k there and then. Seems they holding their value, even during a global pandemic!

I used to work at a newspaper and we had one as a demo for a road test from Ralliart (Dudley News at the time) and the motoring guy took me out for a blast, he was a terrible driver but still never felt acceleration like it, that was circa 2000/2001 my mate now has a mint TME which he kindly let me drive once, it was fantastic, such a well planted car, would love one but out of my reach unfortunately
