RE: 2020 Ford Bronco is 'Built Wild'
Discussion
This really hits the zeitgeist — makes the tortuous gestation of the Defender and its hesitancy around its purpose and audience look plain indecisive. Though I guess its easier for Bronco designers who are looking at a US market with its innate appeal to get into the rugged outdoors within its borders, than British based designers who have to wistfully stare out of the window in Birmingham — though the Defender is supposedly a global vehicle.
Best of all is the bucking Bronco horse logo — a fabulous nod to the less recalcitrant one adorning the Mustang. Both really underline the relationship between the two and their different purposes relative to each other

Didn’t the article mention that it’s taken 16 years or something? Best of all is the bucking Bronco horse logo — a fabulous nod to the less recalcitrant one adorning the Mustang. Both really underline the relationship between the two and their different purposes relative to each other
That's just unbelievably cool, one of the biggest 'I want one of those!' urges I've ever had. Not sure it really translates well to the UK but if the defender can make it stack up I'm pretty sure this would too, not withstanding Bronco not meaning too much to the UK market other than car enthusiasts but looking like that it would definitely do OK.
The original designs looked great... The bean counters have finished doing their work and the actual production model looks less than impressive... I have went from WOW to feeling very underwhelmed by the production offering!!
This is how it should have been built...

some kind of wearable, waterproof key would be great as that's where a lot of the modern keys fail.

If JLR tried the AA would need twice the staff every bank holiday. M

It is of course made by a supplier, so the usual reliability jibes would be a little unfair.
I don't understand the version with the holes in the doors? Do they have plugs to close them off when it is raining or whatever? What benefit do they have over just taking the doors off? Surely with that arrangement you can't have drop glass?
I used to have a Jago Geep, and loved taking the doors and roof off, slinging them in the back and driving around in a fully open cab - even in cold winters' days, if it wasn't raining, dress accordingly and get the fresh air in. As a lifelong hater of SUVs, I actually quite like this - if only there was a V8 option...

Call me a little Englander or whatever you like, but I don't think I have ever registered a "Bronco" as an iconic vehicle here....I might have seen a rusty heap of import rubbish somewhere with that badge on the back, but why should anyone on pistonheads care about this pile of crap?
No immigrants here, not even cars lolPut me down for a bog standard 4-door big bronco please.
I suspect how popular these are in the UK will depend on how greedy Ford are with the pricing.
JLR seem to have gone high on price with the defender to go for the well-heeled fashion market...
I'm hoping Ford therefore don't see that as direct competition. No doubt to be proven wrong...
