No PiCG over £50k either

e: Actually £61k is expensive but if a 3.0d M Sport with 20"s + Premium Pack is £54k it's not THAT bad in comparison

Except you'll get £5k discount on the D and zero on the i. According to TRL it's full list on the EV model. So that's a 15k difference.

The only pricing so far announced is for the launch editions, the Premier Edition (£61900) and Premier Edition Pro (£64900), which are the only models offered to the UK currently.

Premier Edition has 20in alloy wheels, electric tailgate, adaptive suspension, panoramic roof, electrically adjustable heated front seats, wireless smartphone charging, four exterior paint colours, two exterior trim colours and four leather colours.

Premier Edition Pro has all the above, plus head-up display, Harman Kardon surround-sound, gesture control, high-beam assist, lumbar support, Park Assist Plus and a gimmicky engine soundtrack.

I know it was mentioned earlier in this thread; the iX3 is made in China, so if you're ordering one with a bespoke config, expect a long lead time. I guess they've tried to please 95% of prospective UK buyers with 2 decent spec levels, and not yet made the configurator live.

Interestingly, on BMW's German configurator, the iX3 is now listed at €68040. Apart from colours (incl leather & interior trim decor) you can only order 20in alloy wheels (€1657), towbar (€1072), various bits of shadowline trim, privacy glass (€438) and black headlining (€292). They're almost dealer fit accessories, so it looks like they've also got a spec with nearly no variety. They get Adaptive Suspension, Wireless Charging, Metallic Paint and Heated Seats as standard.

Funnny how they’re copying Tesla in that case.

They don't offer a plethora of options like they do on the rest of their cars? Or am I missing something.

Plenty of other car manufacturers adopt that practice. In any event, it will be built initially in limited numbers, is a premium product with a price to boot so it makes sense to load them with options.

Yeah maybe they will launch base models which you can spec up after their initial launches have been delivered.

That’s the thing with this car. They are only going to build a small number of them and BMW always put a big, fake RRP on their products partly to maintain the ‘premium’ and partly to ensure the franchise vendors can off fake ‘discounts’ to steer customers into the lucrative house finance deals.

With this car they are optioning it up because the limit number means there is no need to market a top model to sell a base one. Plus, consumers have a raft of tax incentives that allow them to think the car is much cheaper than the alternative ICE.

What it tends to show is that the real value of all those options on new cars is about 1p and that you can use them to mask the fact that you’re taking the local govt tax incentives for yourself despite your customer thinking they are getting them. biggrin
