Hi everyone. Firstly, apologies for not posting on this thread sooner. Have only just found it!
Am currently driving a type R Accord, which I paid too much for back in sept '20. Also still have my em2 civic coupe SORN. Have replied to a few topics but am only just finding how big the site is! Have just noticed the Honda page. Have a couple of questions, but will check the faq's. Drive safe everyone! :-)

Good morning. We live in Kent. I have a question about a motorbike my son bought and sold in April, was then seized by Kent police at its new owner's house, and is now languishing in a Kent compound awaiting an inspection. Allegedly, Met Police logged it stolen on 2/10/2020 but I obtained the Met officer's name who dealt with it and in an email he stated it was never logged as stolen, I have forwarded this on to Kent Police. However, Kent Police are saying it was logged as stolen on this date. We checked bikesmart and DVSA prior to purchasing and nothing came up.
When purchasing we received the green slip (registered to a company in NW London) and paid by bank transfer. We sold it as son changed his mind as got a cancellation car driving test and quickly wanted to purchase a car! The new owner only had the bike three days before it was seized at his home. I then had three police officers turn up at my house trying to arrest my son for handling stolen goods, they put a high alert on my house as they said the guy we sold it to would be coming for us (frightened my daughter and I). We paid the guy his money back (all recorded and signed for) he who was very polite and not the thug the police made him out to be, because we felt it was the right thing to do, plus the logbook is still in my son's name so technically the bike is still ours and the purchaser has agreed to this. The guy we sold to wanted the bike for work but has been known to the police previously.
Are we able to get an independent inspection done on the bike? Any advice? It seems a simple procedure but the police seem to be turning it into a farce.
Personally I think Kent Police have made a mistake. Will they admit this though? The Kent Police Officer has said he raised the paperwork on 30/4/2021 but hasn't got an update yet. We are currently £2K out of pocket.

Welcome to PH and sorry to hear about the issue you're having. I'd recommend posting in our 'Speed, Plod & Law' forum for advice on this https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/forum.asp?h=0&...
Good afternoon. I have a question about the Audi Q7 (2012 model). Having read through many threads I have not found the answer. Why is there a single battery terminal in the passenger footwell? I cannot find any reference to this in either the manual or web research. Over recent months and about 5 times now the car has not accepted commands from either key fob (batteries are good) so the car remains locked and immobilised. Using the key to enter the drivers door, the alarm activates. I have discovered that if I disconnect the footwell terminal for say 5 minutes (with sparks flying on cable removal so can't be healthy to do) the system seems to reset and accepts the fob commands and happy days the car starts and everything is back to normal. I suppose this is actually 2 questions. Firstly what is the purpose of this terminal and am I doing harm by removing the connection? Secondly why am I having this intermittent fault and what advice can you give me to remedy the problem? Any help or guidance greatly appreciated
Welcome to PH Reggie.
If you ask your question in the VW, Audi, SEAT &Skoda section then I am sure you will find an answer.
I have a similar single battery terminal in the footwell of my Porsche, it is to attach a positive lead from another battery if the main battery goes flat (the negative can be attached to any point on the chassis).
Good luck.

Hello, thanks for accepting me to Pistonheads. I've been reading post for years but only just set up an account.
Looking for some advice on a family wagon that has a bit of soul & excitement about it...... Been looking at 2016 audi SQ5s but hear the brakes aren't the best & also Macans S but unsure if they have a nice sound to them?
I test drove 2 SQ5s but never noticed the brake & handling issue as it was largely motorway then back to the dealership & I can't find a Macan within 400 miles so I doubt I will get to test drive.
The other thought I had was for a X5 35d
Any advice for a good fun all rounder, family wagon that isn't going to bankrupt me or scare the Mrs.
Cheers!

Thank you for the advise Scrump and I will repost today. I also have a terminal in the engine bay for jump starting so I still don't understand why there is a further one in the footwell. When I discover what this is I will let you know. Thank you again. If you ask your question in the VW, Audi, SEAT &Skoda section then I am sure you will find an answer.

Hi there everyone. My name is Ian and I live near Reading. I have two cars both are getting on a bit. Both petrol. A 2007 BWM 318i Touring (E91) which I've owned for 7 years - had a variety of issues over the years and it is also quite gutless. Hopeless for towing. But it is a workhorse. My other car is a 2011 C Class Mercedes CGI (W204) which I bought nearly new. Totally reliable - serviced by a non-franchised garage once a year. Only failure ever was the windscreen washer pump. Been a great car. Neither car is worth much so my intention is to run the BMW until it naturally gives up the ghost then do likewise with the Mercedes. I'll probably expire first!
Welcome Ian! I'm sure other members would be very interested in reading about your ownership experiences in our Readers' Cars section, given that you've owned both of your cars for so long https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/forum.asp?h=0&...

Hi guys,
It must be my midlife crisis, but I really want to get one of the late 90’s Porsche Boxsters! Any advice as to what to look for (and also to be weary of) when I go and look at them? They all look pretty and shiny to me, but I’m trying to buy with my head and not my eyes!!!!

Then maybe use the resources of the Porsche Section Here to get some owners critique on potential candidates you have identified
