I had a discussion with a group of Driving Instructors many years ago. There was an argument about what the limits were....Nice to hear you're ok, if nothing else. The level of punishment the VW driver got was nothing short of a joke. A ban should have been the minimum he received. If you were in a smaller, older car such as a Pug 106 the outcome could have been far far worse.
