If this stays cheap I'm tempted to bid. It looks like a really nice car that happens to have found its way into the hands of a crummy trader.

I’m amazed that 124s are still fetching strong money. It looks sound, I’d push for 1500 quid.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/353245061000

Good news.....be out in ours this weekend, blast over to Pickering and Whitby, some pleasant driving roads over there to enjoy.
Great roads for the car I'd love a meet at whitby some great roads and pubs for an overnighter Admittedly more than a haggle from thread max but I don’t think I’ve seen a bi-turbo C215 as cheap. Certainly not one that was working and appears to have had some big ticket items taken care of:

Very much within budget and with scope to make an offer (immobiliser fault?) - it can’t just be me and the Gallic General that fancy these?! Looks very clean and whilst not sold on the exhaust mod it wouldn’t put me off at a bag and a half:

Collecting the e34 on Monday fter some major works - invoice below excludes the cost of a pair of refurbed shocks (£600 outright), H&R M5 rear SLS -10mm springs (£275), 2 litres CHFS11, engine oil, heater blower fan, a few vacuum hoses. Oh and a set of refurbed injectors.
I used BMS Surrey in Leatherhead - they seem to know what’s what on the older cars and get 5 star reviews across the board. Seem honest enough too, eg they have not charged for a seat belt cover they have replaced which broke on removal - small fry overall but I know some garages where I’d be expected to pay for that sort of thing due to age.
Will see what it’s like to drive on Monday, but hoping for a minor improvement in ride quality at the back (think the ‘bombs’ were at fault and SLS struts a bit dry), plus some improved mpg - 21-23 around town and 32-33 on a run is lower than anticipated.
They seem to have missed the coolant and sticky t-stat change (could relate to low mpg), will see if they can do it before I collect.

These are so pretty, even in boring silver, and if the recent work checks out you could be waiting a long time for a better one.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143799209887
I really hope some of these are being preserved by owners who cherish them and spend the money required to keep them in good order, because like the W220 S-Class I only seem to see them sitting on their bump stops parked at the roadside or on grassy driveways in ropey areas of town, slowly turning green. The C140 seemed to suffer a similar fate and then vanish completely, I cannot remember the last time I saw one outside of a PH owners thread.
Paging r129sl!
So near to being epic - just needs a different engine and interior...

I found this earlier in the week (only a CL500 though), same price, a bit over thread budget so didn't post it up, I think it looks stunning:https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143799209887

That’s an absolutely cracking looking car! Seems an outrageous batgain to my eyes - had I not got myself deep in with the SL over the last few months I’d be knocking on his door for that. https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/10963109?c...

Although the 4.7 bi-turbo may be the peach of this range I wouldn’t feel hard done by with a normal 500, especially at almost half the asking price. Someone get this bought!
Passion leather too, fancy photos help quite a lot mind!
Silly question, if an MOT fail reads:
Do not drive until repaired (dangerous defects):
Nearside Front Valve stem seriously damaged (5.2.3 (j))
Nearside Rear Valve stem seriously damaged (5.2.3 (j))
Offside Rear Valve stem seriously damaged (5.2.3 (j))
Do we think there’s a chance the valves can just be replaced? It’s in an A8 4.2 with a long list of niggles, some worse than others, but if it needs four new 20” tyres would really make it a rolling part donor.

Valves can just be replaced, if it's something you are looking to buy, I would get them to get it done, at a guess it would be £15 a valve?Silly question, if an MOT fail reads:
