At merely a cursory glance, this looks mostly okay.

Just an FYI I'm about to go full eBay shortlist DEFCON-4 on some Audi a8 (d2) v8 quattro's. They're around £2k so at least when the timing chain lets go I can buy 1.5 more a8's and still be within thread. I'm hoping to get one with a fridge between the rear seats and/or the solar panel sunroof which I have no idea of the purpose of. TBC! How exciting..
Sounds very exciting keep us updated smile

Oooh, a new world record.

The red headed V12 lockdown librarian effect no doubt.

A £7k 124 320 T ' near enough ' mint.

If he wants £7k for it then the loom and all of the loom should have been done. If he hasn't got proof of that then it's worth £1.5k less immediately. It's a shoddy advert quickly written with very limited information non descript yet again. His advert doesn't command 7k. It's not near enough mint either. It needs to be up on a ramp checking for corrosion which it will have somewhere around the rear arches & subframe.

I've got a friend in Royston and he will go and see it tomorrow but £7,000!!! Good grief, they're not worth that with a worn drivers bolster. I don't think it's worth even £5k. No way to value these except 99p auction it and see what happens. I've owned and sold loads of these and still own some. There's always plenty of jap imports knocking about for between £6k and £8k and they never seem to sell which means they aren't worth that money. There's high demands for 124's, they sell fairly easily with a sensible vendor.
Thanks. I think he’s take nearer £5k. My gut is £4K might be too end for it?

This 320 looks lovely. The same chap I bought mine from. An old merc nut and a good chap. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1995-MERCEDES-BENZ-E-CL...

The 140 is a very big car and feels it. The ride quality and quietness are brilliant. But they are a long distance big roads car. Pretty useless on little roads and around town. I would strongly counsel you to find a V8, 420 or 500. The V8 engine is very, very smooth and significantly stronger than the six (220bhp v 275bhp and 335 bhp). And standard wheelbase. My S420 was a fast enough car. The stereo was very good: did I ever mention that? https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=15...

This one has graced these pages at least once before. Only a six but SWB and lovely colours.

Oa, if you spring for a 140, I'll gladly buy your E320. And sell it back to you four weeks later when you've tired of the 140's mass.
That s320 is lovely. Same loom issues as the w124? A better motorway wafter? Low 30’s On a 70mpg motorway run? Is this a little toppy on price? Are those Orthopedic seats? Sorry for the questions, this has got me a little excited

That is almost perfect, shame it has a sunroof though.

No they are the (very) boggo seats, the wheel you can see is lumbar support adjust. You actually have to adjust the position of the seat by hand which is not really becoming of an S-class and means you miss the joy of motorised head rests.

Morning

We are well overdue a barge meet and count me in. Apart from a couple of weekends of work in November I am nearly all clear.

0a, you have to buy that blue W140. They are great cars.
