Good to hear it's retained a loyal following. I hope you use SpeckledJim as your nom de plume when calling in to tell a certain stabby redhead that she needs to find herself a nice boy, perhaps a chiropractor.
hehe

She's back in Tuesday..... Must not call her by her "TV" name laugh

As an aside - and I speak as an (ignorant) owner of one - but why did some convertibles become known as Spiders?
General belief is they were named after a lightweight horse drawn carriage that resembled a 'spider'.

Of course, just for them. Scartlett, there are a few....only one is a stabby one of a certain hair colour.

Cue lots of people here going to a certain website and saying they haven't done so laugh

I'm not sure if I'm convinced by those GTVs. They're nice looking things, but a bit quirky. Can't make my mind up whether I like them or not!

You have to seal the deal Ross. For us, you legend. Forget about the armrest of dreams, this is what dreams is made of.

A friend also reports there are clips of her on a hub of video clips website.

Gosh I am being contrary today but, again, I could not disagree more. That big heavy six has no place in the dainty gtv. An alfa needs a four pot with many valves and camshafts, encouraging it to get up on its toes in a way the busso engine just can't. Like sitting behind a hammerhead and aiming it at a nut, it has some bombastic satisfaction but misses the point of an alfa by some margin. (Yes, yes, I deliberately bought an alfetta 2000 rather than a GTV6 and not just for reasons of impecunity/impecuniousness?, so my disappointingly meagre money does go where my mouth is, I loved the way that twin cam colander handled rather than the understeering truffle snorting v6).

For me the sound of that glorious busso makes the car, yes a twin spark can rev but it just doesn't sound anything close to that gorgeous V6.

Not denying the Busso engine is a cracker, I just don't feel it suits what an Alfa sports car means to me. I almost bought a 166 24v a few years back, the engine really suited that installation!!

Back on the subject of barges, Hubnut has a 2004 S-Type 4.2 in his latest video. It's the pre final facelift version, but it has the post 2001 interior and running gear tweaks.

Needless to say there are plenty of Gerald mods to the poor thing.

I like that. I like it a lot. But at what point during the descent to crack (or-other-Class-A-of one's-choice)-fuelled madness do you think 'know what, what that classic 90s S Class really needs is a boot spoiler'?

Perfect colour, reasonable-ish spec and not an entirely pauper version, but spoiled by an early-adopter Gerald. Or Klaus. Or something.

At 3 grand I'm tempted. At 6 I'm not.
That's a nasty SEC grill conversion. Rather than use an actual SEC bonnet, they've grafted an SEC grill onto a saloon bonnet so the creases which should line up to the edge of the normal grill end up in no mans land... No-one would ever notice of course, but it's the sort of thing that like the boot spoiler and Barry / Klaus alloys show you the owner simply doesn't respect the majesty of the W126. Also, Beryl metallic is all sorts of wrong.

Mate, so wrong. Leave Wetherspoons immediately, your judgement is impaired.

Beryl is a colour the like of which will not be seen again. Well, at least until a young human female in the Western world is named Beryl. Sure, it's a dodgy name but it sure is a wondrous colour for a car.

You're all mad old fishes. Too much babestation for you - time for an early night!

Talking about Merc colours that sound like women you'd probably not want to introduce to your mother, here's a new one on me. A RHD special order SL60 by the Sultan of Moneybags, Agatha Metallic....

Glorious, but it probably should be at 15 x budget.

Ross's redheaded stripper will be cheaper and lower maintenance than that.

This babestation conversation seems to have over-excited the thread somewhat.

Breaking news: there are other uses for the internet other than looking at threads with chaps talking about old barges!

That Ross is such a tinker with his capacious back seats in that Lexus.

Don't fall for his charms and temptations. The only titivation here should provided via r129SL.
