Above budget, but remains tempting: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-540iT-6-HK32-Code-u...
Love that. cloud9
We've had this on a few times - I think even the owner made an appearance. From memory the general consensus is it needs a fair bit spending on it bodywork wise.

In other "vehicles at 3* thread" news, help settle an argument for me- just how much of a wally does a grown person look in a G4 Disco?

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2020...

Would depend wholly on geographical area of use I’d say.
I agree.

In London? A bit of a wally. In the highlands, and the car is filthy with some off road boas tyres on? Then I'd just think it was cool.
Nope, still a cockwomble not matter the location
If you want to off-road a disco, then off-road it. If you feel the need to paint it dayglo orange and sticker it up - or pay a rediculous premium for land rover to do it for you - then you are a prize winning wannabe throbber
I don't know, I think you'd get away with it in somewhere like Brazil. Particularly if there was a group of you. scratchchin

Serious answer is I think they are acceptable if you were part of the G4 Challenge and you've kept it, or It has more or otherwise unavailable kit for a good price, or you DGAF about what internet or any other blokes think and buy what you want.

I'm not convinced there's much about that car that says "I don't care what people think".

It's desperate.

I had copied the url but forgot to paste it in: https://www.gumtree.com/p/mercedes-benz/mercedes-e...

I’ve heard back that they’re really busy today with new stock delivery but he’ll get back to me about a viewing.
OK, so what I'd check:

From the pics I think it has full airmatic suspension - start the car, give it a few seconds, then hit the button below and left of the gear lever that looks like a car with an up arrow - this asks the suspension to raise itself to full height. It should start to rise and get there within a 10 seconds or so, and be noticeably higher than standard. Once it's finished hit the button again to lower it, same procedure. It might not evenly deflate/inflate, mine used to do the front slower than the rear, but was always even side-to-side. If it throws an error at this point it could be as simple as replacing/servicing the pump - it lives under the front bumper and is easy to access. I replaced mine with a used one from eBay, and less than an hour faffing with a rebuild kit which a kind threadist here provided (sorry I forgot who it was!).

When test driving hit the bigger button below the lever, it's a two-stage button that'll light up - first push should slightly firm the ride, the second should be noticeably firmer and feel lower (again give it a few seconds to swap about). If it doesn't firm up or feel different on setting 2 then they may have had the struts replaced with Arnotts non-adjust ones. Again not a deal-breaker, but it's nice to have switch-mode for a spirited session.

AC - make sure it blows nice and cold front and rear, and check it splits the temperature left/right as well. Otherwise they're robust systems and very well programmed imho.

Seats - make sure the heat works, lovely on a cold day. From the memory buttons on the door it *may* have the dynamic seats. Check for a set of controls under your left knee on the driver's seat, right on passenger side. The dynamic seats have air-filled bladders which can be inflated/deflated for fine adjustment of lumbar etc. They're well worth trying to find if you can. Fiddle with the adjusters and make sure everything moves and inflates/deflates as required. The pump lives over the rear wheel arches and can be flaky, so if it does have it I'd recommend a quick nose at it post-purchase and make sure it's in good fettle. Hard to find now.

I believe some of the tailgates can be a bit rusty, so one to watch.

Otherwise it looks a good 'un.
I've just twigged that this is the barge in Glasgeh that I was hoping someone could view but nblr is in there first.

Just my luck.

Having bought a Subaru H6 to ‘tide me over’ while the jury came to their conclusion regarding the W211’s failure to proceed, a *really* nice looking E39 T has come up.
I’ve wanted a well looked after E39 for as long as I can remember.

Has anyone on thread got any use for a 2004 Subaru Legacy Outback 3.0?
Won’t be more than a couple of grand!
Details please smile

If I remember it was also a lot more expensive last time. I think it was over £10k, was it not?

Nah, 7.5k, and having survived the lockdown price bounce I suspect it will need more off.

Glad to see Hermes are up to their usual delivery standards... Interestingly the CTEK has a 5 year warranty, the (remains of the) NOCO has 3...

Looks good, but who would choose a steering wheel in that colour?

As with so many cars posted, it also seems pricey doesn't it, grown-up engine notwithstanding?

Bit of a palaver actually - messaged on Friday, said he would get back to me later Friday, message on Saturday saying he'll get back to me over the weekend, message this morning saying sorry, not been working this weekend as family emergency. Weirdly the Gumtree adverts have been getting refreshed though - it was suggested I should just turn up but it's Gumtree and so has no location details beyond East Kilbride.

However while the wife is keen on mercs, she's not so keen on estates, so I might have to wait for a saloon to turn up instead, but still plan to view this one (if seller ever lets me). I'll let you know!

Settle down with your Sunday Port & Lemon and cigar - Tyrrell's Classic Workshop covers the v12 Jaguar XJ. Pure satisfaction.

I quite like these, but he's a master at stretching 15 mins of content into 30. I suppose that's a feature of this sort of thing, but I prefer the stripped-down protein rich stuff (if only I could find it).
The LS400 gets name dropped. I watched it as part of my end of day wind down so didn't mind the speed of delivery or format. I've mentioned Heron heads on PH before so it was nice to get another explanation. It was nice to see an image of the XJ13 too.

Does look very good, definitely needs a different wheel on it as that one's disgusting. And I say that as someone who obsesses over not-black interiors.

Wasn't going to particularly post anything until I saw that IT'S GOT RADAR CRUISE CONTROL! Never seen one for sale with it in the UK.
