Does anyone know of a nearby jet wash?
Looks like the Esso a couple of miles along the A505 from the museum has one.Edited by r129sl on Tuesday 20th October 17:30

There may well be a queue!

I think we'll be at Duxford on Sunday from 10, maybe 10.30. I'll park at the far end of whatever car park there is. We'll have to split by 3 as it is a long way home.
If I go to the Queen's Head it'll be at least partly for sentimental reasons. As I say, we used to go out there whenever one of us had transport and drink too much. I seem to recall it was brown soup and beef sandwiches, which is no bad thing. That said, I have just now remembered and researched the Peking, formerly on Burleigh Street now on Homerton Street but the same chef who must be absolutely ancient by now. I am heartily tempted to give that a go. What are the stories about the Tickell Arms? Didn't it have a very odd landlord?

Well the menu hasn't changed since you last went. Brown soup and beef sandwiches definitely feature, it is one of my 'work locals' so I visit from time to time.If I go to the Queen's Head it'll be at least partly for sentimental reasons. I was imagining a meet time of about 11:00 to give folks time to do the museum and head home at a reasonable hour.
Ben
I'm not too concerned about times. We'll get there early doors, park up at the M11 end (black G-wagen, non-thread illegally spaced numberplate LR08GER) and just head into the museum. Happy to PM my mobile number to whoever and we'll come out later in the morning and kick tyres. My youngest is going to want to see the aeroplanes more than he's going to want to see you lot.

I think midday is a sensible time to aim to meet. And then the museum at 1ish.
These have been fun in the past - sounds like we have a good showing, I’d encourage people to come along no matter what car they bring.
Midday ish works for me. I probably won't do the museum as I have been a lot of times before. These have been fun in the past - sounds like we have a good showing, I’d encourage people to come along no matter what car they bring.
If you have not been then do, I honestly reckon the collection rivals any aviation museum in the world.
Looks like I’m now coming to Duxford too, along with aviation enthusiast 8yo (who conversely couldn’t give two sts about cars despite his father’s illness) and Mrs 755, who has decided to tag along. The poor girl.
Undecided about what to come in, but the scruffy LS460 is currently favourite on account of having the largest screen- a very important consideration for any 8 year old.
Should be there for noon.

I would love to come to Duxford but I'm covid positive, so I'm not legally allowed out so test and trace say about four times a day thus far.
Have yet another Laguna 3.0 to make up for it, initale estate with everyone's fave LPG at only £2k.

I expect the 3.0 petrol is a little slow (any experience?) but the Mk1 X5 is a grower when the one owner has not chavved it. £3k.

Can't promise it, but I hope to make it to Duxford. I'll aim for 11.30/12. It's about 3hrs, and I don't like early starts on Sundays! The clutch appears to have given up the ghost on the 9000 so will probably be in the Bristol.
HELLO! Just looked at your profile. https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=12...Please make that definitely!
