“A little TLC” translates as 20 grands worth of work to keep it roadworthy. That said, 25 grand is still acceptable, but not on this thread.

Are we staying in the same hotel? Holiday Inn Express Cambridge/Duxford? We're leaving Northumberland just after lunch and having supper at the Peking in Cambridge at about 6 ish. I'd say see you in the bar after but I don't drink and I'm bringing my 9 year old!

I've washed and hoovered the G-wagen but it is now stotting it down with rain.

Anyone interested in a meet closer to Dorset/Hampshire? (I'm based in North Dorset)

Would love to see some old barges get together.

We're booked in at the Tickell Arms for 6.30pm because it's a spelling variation of our surname but will probably be in the red lion later, yes same hotel we changed it when someone recommended the Tickell

Are you Mr Tickle?

I'd also be interested in a Hants meet.

Hope the weather picks up for you guys doing the Loser Conference. One of these days I’ll try and make a ‘northern’ meet.

It would be an absolute blast if TW124 rocked into the venue in the SLR giving it a concerted FU!

Regardless, hope there will be some good barges in attendance and safe travels to all in the less than brilliant driving conditions.

Gents, popping to have a look at this barge in a bit:
Will report back if it's any good (or not, as is more likely...)

That looks amazing - I need a new commuter.

So let us know how it goes.

Definitely up for a Hampshire barge meet.

Is an E46 330ci allowed or do I need to MOT the E500?

Hang on, I’ve got this wrong..........I need to go and get a new smoker so I can attend!

I might be able to offer something a little different for a few people if it were in Portsmouth / Southsea.

Looking forward to seeing another w124! I mentioned ages and ages ago that my battery was going (the car came from a chap who had 13 w124s!). It doesn’t like starting without a jump at the moment. I did order a new battery but it was the wrong size... will hopefully get a replacement before heading down tomorrow.

Ha! He did pick me up from the station in a lovely w140 500 coupe, and his house and street were full of his old mercs. A nice chap.

Using my untrained eye seemed like a nice example (no code reader I'm afraid). Obligatory sagging headliner "Got a bloke who'll sort it for £200", worn Pirellis on the front and some new cheap ste at the back. Needs a valet. Motorola car phone present "What's that daddy?".

Previous owner a JEC member, and it had been to a show or two. Actual plate is GJ54NYR which shows a reasonable MOT history, it'll come with a new one.

So some thinking to do...
