He has refreshed that advert properly pretty much weekly since February, hence the new date of 2 days ago. In normal times it's £3k over priced.

I appreciate these are not normal times, but it's still £3k overpriced.

Not within thread, but, this is definitely the best place to ask about these...

This is a long way away from me, but I like it, what do I need to look out for in terms of BORK?

As mentioned..... Steering rack is the biggie. Aside from that they're generally very solid cars. Main suspension issues are pretty minor and are usually things like track rod ends etc. The air suspension seems robust. Cooling systems..... It's not a bad idea to replace the radiator (mine is being done on Wednesday!) because they can fail and cause coolant to leak into the gearbox..... Which you don't want. A new rad is cheap enough.

Otherwise.... The engines are solid. Electrics seem solid. I have heard the electric boot motors can fail but I gather it's quite rare. The variable valve timing can get bunged up filters which can cause a few issues, it's hard to diagnose and 2 things can cause it.... I gather one is cheap (less than £200) and another is probably nearer £1k or a bit less. I don't think there any too many big problems with them to be honest. Just that steering rack..... Mine had it replaced about 2 years ago..... By a 2nd hand unit I gather. It's been fine, touch wood!

See you at breakfast. The Red Lion was tempting but the shattered boy and I watched Crocodile Dundee 2. It rather put me in mind of what a friend said about the pantomime: there's always "something for the dads".

Some very barge-like journey stats for you: 251miles, 18.1mpg, 73mph average speed.

I will be along at 11:30 ish tomorrow in the DB9. If there is more than one mine will be the one that looks like it hasn't been washed and with a personalised plate more befitting of a Merc with a 55 engine.....

Tomorrow looks dry.

I still like this LS460 at 6k. Not just because of the light interior, but the amusing (NOT SALVAGE)

I wasn't so much commenting on the price, as in saying it was a good buy, indeed, there are several new shape legends cheaper, I was commenting on the car. If that was £1500 it would be outside my house, (haven't checked mot history right enough, but a lovely big cruiser!)

I had an accord coupe with the smaller 3.0 engine and autobox. It was, in actuality, not a good 'un, but boy what a lovely engine and lovely car!!

Fair enough, although I'd say if you drove that one and the next shape back to back, you'd find the reduction in nvh astonishing, the road noise in the older ones is pronounced. Yes turn the stereo up, but it's surprisingly wearing.

Agree, Radiator is a surprisingly common weak spot on a number of Toyota products. Stunning overall though and Ross is the expert on these. I know we're not allowed to name and shame, but a friend had a shambles of an experience with this dealer, so go in with your eyes open, or preferably a better dealer/good private seller.

The new one is on my 'list'. I really like them and they are so much more of a technological tour de force than the old square rigger!!

I wonder how much that number plate is worth? The car's not for sale afaik, but it's a Mercedes and it's old.

I'm not going to make it to Duxford today I'm afraid. We've builders coming next week, and the weather this past week means I've not got all the required preparations done yet. Have fun all, I look forward to seeing the photos.
