PS - sb123 & World Boss - when you went out, was the i-drive screen flickering? It was fine all the way to Duxford, but setting off for Chelmsford, it was like watching an old analogue tv... It seems to have sorted itself again now, but I’ll probably have to take it out, pull it to bits & dry it over the radiator again like I did 2y ago. I think it’s a lack of use thing...
No flickering that I noticed, although I must admit that the controls for that car baffled me completely hehe

I drove into West London after the meet, so it was about 5 hours of driving over the day. The S600 was absolutely perfect for it, and was rewarded for reaching the Chiswick roundabout without showing a single warning or error all day with £100 worth of the fancy new 99 octane zero ethanol Esso super unleaded. 311 miles from that tank at an average of 17.8mpg.

But Duxford was just superb.
The collection is second to none. Some of the US museums have better space exhibits, as you would expect, but none have as wide a range or sheer quantity of conventional aircraft.

I am still smiling at the thought of the Century's unusual option of a random Japanese phrase generator, at least I assume it was random.

The G-wagen does seem to possess überholprestige in spades and it was running well last night. We hit a new record on the way home: 120.
Is that 120 leptons per hour or 120 miles on a tankful, hehe.

Looks like it was a great meet. I'd still like a Century but out of budget.

Probably both.

Looks like an incredible barge meet gents, so many V12s together! What was the cylinder count in the end?
From memory we had

2 x S600 = 24 cyl
1 x Century = 12 cyl
1 x DB9 = 12 cyl
1 x 760Li = 12 cyl

1 x CL600 = 8 cyl
1 x LS = 8 cyl

1 x G wagen = 6 cyl (?)
2 x W124 (E300D and E320) = 12 cyl

94 cylinders total. I must have forgotten someone, so maybe we had over 100? Can we count the man with the Oakleys and his RRS SVR cool?

+ 6 from STG’s Boxster to make a round 100.

(and no we can’t count the RRS, especially as he had a crackle map fitted - instant disqualification!) :-)

They really are hideous aren't they, well imo anyway...

I didn't get to have a proper look at the pair of S600's (glorious machines) or Olly's LS, which also look like a real nice way to while away a few hours up the motorway.

Alec's CL however is cloud9 and had me scouring AT for a while last night..

Fantastic turnout! Disappointed I couldn’t make it.

Duxford looked a great venue too.

I can’t wait to see the G-Wagen / CL and Century at the next meet!

I'm all for some flamboyance, but those wheels are truly awful.

Agree, and the colour too. I love a RR but not quite like that.

I agree. Not least because he seems to have combined them with some 15mm spacers, in case a gold Rolls-Royce hadn't already sufficiently underlined his 'total wand' status.

Imagine sitting in that thing whilst another human being was within sight.

I’m a huge RR fan, one day Rodney, but that is just truly awful, it’s such a shame to ruin such a great car, utterly tasteless (and I’m bordering on a lack of taste).

Haven't there been cases throughout the RR history where owners have specced cars not entirely tastefully?

One or two. And sometimes eventually they have their day, usually several decades after the original criminal has gone.
