That Peugeot 204 is magnificent. While we're on the topic, what is the correct pronunciation of Peugeot? Pewjo or Perjo?
My French friend maintains it should be peux-joe, I wind him up saying it wrong. biggrin
Watching Bob Flavin's videos on YouTube, Pewjo is the Irish way. Other than that, Perjo.

I used to sell them new and called them perjos. The dealer principal called them pewjos though. But then he was Austrian, so who knows...

Good luck! As someone who often runs old Jaguars I consider radiators and coolant hoses to be consumables on a 10 year / 100k mile change interval; the consequences of failure are dreadful (particulary if it's a radiator with integrated ATF cooler) and the cost to mitigate fairly modest so I'm sure you're making the right decision.
Yes, it has an integrated ATF cooler so I decided it prudent to get it changed. I'd rather not need a gearbox rebuild if I can avoid it.

Cheers.

S500 for £1995... I almost think this is worth buying just to drive it until it falls apart.

Quite an interesting spec, if it's rot-free then it's not too crack-pipey.

This is all of the money for a car which according to the url has been for sale for a year, but I like the idea of a V50 2.5 T5.

I have one. Just like that in fact but with dynaudio and some other bits. I like it. Comfy but with a few choice mods (rear arb, bilstein b4 + other bits) the ride is good and it handles well. I paid that for mine at 85k and with 14 Volvo service stamps.

The engine is effortless and after 3k does sound nice.

It's different depending on the region,

"Puh zjo" in the North and East (Sochaux factory).

"Puh Joe" in the west, Rennes, big plant.

South West, "un bleu", a derogatory term for a blue collar worker.

South East, "putain, sortez de mon chemin".

Eta, its only in Coventry they say "purrrr zho". My first grad job was there. A long, long time ago!

No one says "pew zho". Unless they're weird.

Ooh, do you have an RR thread? A mate has dropped £1800 on the same engine and clutch in his Mondeo and its now touching 400bhp, and I fancy lowering the tone with similar.

That 210 is getting a hard time. It’s 2k, looks decent to me. I’ve owned mine now for 6 years it’s clean underneath. Few bits need doing body wise but it’s a 22 year old car. I spent more on my w124 bodywork. They’re not all a disaster.
I'd ring and ask for the reg number
I’ve no interest in buying it, 5 cars already I’m at my limit.

I like a Volvo. I've owned many. I drive one now. But the idea that a 13 year old, near-enough six figure mileage, V50 is worth £5,500.... FIVE AND A HALF THOUSAND POUNDS, is a reality check that the world has gone fking mental.

I do but i am useless at keeping them updated. No engine mods (yet) but lots of handling bits with the exacting requirements of not ruining the ride.

As my lease X5 let me down again last week, I started looking at what I might get as an interim... (it's behaving now so I don't need to worry...yet)

Strangely drawn to these R500's for no reason I can discern.

For your enjoyment:

As per a poster on another thread, "it's not a looker, is it?"........

biggrin
I always think of the R Class as being the successor of the S123 rather than the current E Class estates.

Rather less well than you'd hope, while making an unpleasant backfiring sound from the exhaust in the process?

I know I've been guilty of posting some toppy stuff just because I like it, but once you get past the novelty of leather seats in a Cavalier that's £2500 for automotive chod with welded sills, dodgy numberplates and a history of casual neglect in the suspension department. The kind of thing that'd be interesting for a grand, but at more than double that you'd have to really like Mk3 Cavaliers.
