Sits smugly in the knowledge that his T5 C70 purchased at height of lockdown just before prices went batst was indeed something of a bargain
Still jealous man!! I do like the mk1 shape better but know the mk2 is a better car altogether...I'd love a d5 engined one!Phil Dicky said:
Just watching Shmee's review of the new S class. That tech will be a headache in 15 years time
There is not much info available about the e-ABC suspension system that'll be an option on the proper versions. It sounds like it combines air springs with hydraulic damping for full active suspension, but instead of an engine driven pump (which is no good for hybrids and EVs of course) there are 48V electric pumps for the hydraulics on each corner. The ride quality of air springs with the control of ABC should be amazing.meb90 said:

Just my luck.
Having bought a Subaru H6 to ‘tide me over’ while the jury came to their conclusion regarding the W211’s failure to proceed, a *really* nice looking E39 T has come up.
I’ve wanted a well looked after E39 for as long as I can remember.
Has anyone on thread got any use for a 2004 Subaru Legacy Outback 3.0?
Won’t be more than a couple of grand!

Only just allowed back.
It’s a 2004, red, bought it off an old boy who owned for 6 or 7 years.
Think it’s either just under or just over 100k miles.
Electric everything; very well specced.

I'm surprised you haven't got a headache already if you've been watching/listening to that chap for more than five seconds.stickleback123 said:

Good body
They’re not wrong.I got to drive it a couple of times and all I can remember was the dash being like a cliff face (compared to our Montego) and the fact that 5th gear was long it could barely pull it at 70.
In a slightly pissed and bored state I decided a cheeky bid on this E34 was a good idea since I figured if it wasn't actually rust free and didn't actually have a 2.8 then I could just walk away and if it turned out to be true and of the smaller details could be sorted. He has decided that £1600 was not enough, despite him choosing the starting price and not to put a reserve on it. Probably for the best.

I think you may have had a lucky escape there. It's the steering wheel cover. And all the tat hanging off the dashboard. The red cushion. The Screwfix catalogue. And the cheap detailing products. The leather seats but cloth door cards. The missing rear air vents. And then there is the struggling grasp on the English language.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bmw-e34-520i/2938041306...
There are a few nice enough looking 5ers in budget right now:
E39 540i: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1996-BMW-540I-SE-AUTOMA...
And another, which looks spiffing: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2001-BMW-E39-540i-V8-FB...
Yet another: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E39-540i-V8/1844897...
Budget creep but look at it: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1998-BMW-5-Series-540i-...

You're probably right, but I do like to back an underdog sometimes.r129sl said:

If you're wondering almost any age of BMW whether it's 4-pot or 6, count the intake manifold runners.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bmw-e34-520i/2938041306...
This one is definitely a 6-pot.
