This is really unexpected, the first gen was this...... Yes, Honda actually did this. Then they went boxy for the one I posted. Japanese really are Princess Nut Nuts.
I love this part more!‘.... it also had Land Rover's reliability issues carried over. In 1997, a recall was issued by Honda on the advice of Ministry of Transportation due to a malfunction locking mechanism on the SUV's driver-side front door that could make the vehicle open while driving. Around 4,754 vehicles made from July 1995 to December 1996 were affected by the recall..”
No wonder they have designed their own Hummer instead....
I see the Brabus’d W126 posted a few pages back has found a new home. Mr Riccioni is well known for some of his trials and tribulations with Germany’s finest - his ownership experience of an E60 M5 would bring tears to the eyes. I know he imported some lunatic spec W140 from Japan not so long ago which also has cost him a few quid.
Excellent chap. Would fit in well here if he’s not already amongst our ranks!

The engine noise of his V12 140 with it’s custom exhaust is epic. I’ve probably posted it multiple times.Excellent chap. Would fit in well here if he’s not already amongst our ranks!
There is a clip of someone drifting it round a corner leaving 2 black guide lines for other drivers too.

Without trying to sound like a Lexus fan boy, I don't think any of them have ever rusted to a significant degree since launch, have they?
If the one referenced above had rust MOT comments, I suspect other damage would have caused it. The cars themselves simply don't rust.
Every >£3k LS400 I have looked at recently appears to have some sort of corrosion, either on the MOT or the arches. They are getting old. Probably not as infested as a similar aged Mercs though. If the one referenced above had rust MOT comments, I suspect other damage would have caused it. The cars themselves simply don't rust.
There is a whitish-bloom on the bonnet paint, which would probably improve dramatically with a proper polish, but as I haven't even washed it for nearly a year I can't see that happening.

I suspect that like many cars of the past thirty years, they rust structurally rather than cosmetically. Their long term survival rate is not that great. If the one referenced above had rust MOT comments, I suspect other damage would have caused it. The cars themselves simply don't rust.

I love that every switch in the centre console is populated (rare on the Omega, there's usually at least one blanking plate) and yet it's still on velour with the small V6. Someone knew exactly what they wanted 21 years ago!Emeye said:

So yes, they certainly rust!

...a nice long Allen key is all you need, along with about ten mins...
Useful. Helpful. Almost certainly accurate. But, especially after all that Halfords chat, not what Thread wants to hear.
They* want another excuse to buy tools much sexier than an Allen key. Read the room chum, read the room ...
* Not me, because I'm not really sure what to do with any tool (except a hammer).
