Stuck it in the Mercedes section, but thought I'd ask here too: I want a detachable towbar for my s124, by they seem to be hard to get hold of. If anyone knows of one I'd appreciate a heads-up.
Towequipe do one at a reasonable price
If you just want the bit that detaches, I have two. If you want the whole shebang, try German eBay for a genuine or Oris kit. The aftermarket kits look a bit shonky to me.
Thanks guys, finding an Oris is proving difficult, and the others seem to require a cut in the bumper! I really should have researched this prior to selling the green s124, which had a mint Oris item. Idiot that I am...

A challenging looking Infiniti, but with all the options, 3.5 V6 hybrid and 4 wheel drive

I mean it's good, but it's no Suzuki Kizashi, is it? smile
I really like these, and the big q50 suv monster.

There's a readers ride thread somewhere for one of these 5.0 ones, ungainly, but brilliantly daft.

Right, now Where's W00DY with a decent set of cars to push us on to VOL 18?

The 190e didn't sell! There was an offer but it wasn't quite right. We'll see what this week brings.

In Woody's absence, how's about this.....

Unfortunately it's slightly over budget and subject to a buying fee.

This feels like more of a Barry than Gerald type of thing.

Sorry to hear that. Have you got an advert link, I'd just be interested to see it. What was the offer, ma I ask?

Best of luck for the sale so you can get into another barge soon! If you do get an E38 you'll find it quite the step up in refinement hehe

Isn't it.

It's an impressive level of dedication...matching all the wiper arms too.

Impressive might be the wrong word.

Any thoughts from thread contributors on the most comfortable seats that can be found in a vehicle within stated budget? My back and shoulder is giving me some pain as of late. Current lines of enquiry are Mercedes with orthopaedic seats options or those with massage seats. A CL500 seems to be the cheapest way to get those but then the £2000 ABC repair Bill probably counters that. Most everything I am seeing with Massage seats comes with Air suspension as well which I want to avoid if humanly possible.

I've owned all sorts of cars.
My Accord Type R has fairly comfy seats now (Recaro) but a 1999 Rover 416Si (T762 RCE) had the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in.

So look for an old Rover!

PS - Someone please buy the E350 I linked a few days ago. It's down to £2350 and i really don't want to have to empty my savings account for it!

The most comfortable seats I've ever sat in are were in my old Volvo V70. I'm guessing anything from around 2003-2007 in S60, V70 or S80 flavour will have the same.
I once drove from Spain to Sheffield in one sitting in mine and never had a problem. Reasonably soft and comfortable suspension too.

I think you'd be better off trying to fix your body's problem rather than try to get around it with different seats.....

BMW e65 with comfort seats, you can pick up a facelift easily within budget.

Thanks! Shortlist is:

2004 onwards CLK 320 Avantgarde (not really a barge but I have a soft spot for them)
E38 728i of any guise.
X350 V6 although the suspension is a bit scary.
Not another E39.
Maybe a W140 320 although I'm not sure they aren't a bit slab sided. Also don't appear to be any out there.

Budget is half thread or thereabouts so I'm not spoilt for choice. It needs to be refined, and able to achieve 25-30 mpg. Not too much too ask!
S320 3k, slabby but lovely.

Good MOT history on that too. Only failures for bulbs etc the last couple of years.

DO IT!
That is a very good price for one of these and with a relatively low mileage and a modern looking colour. I also think (but don't know) that a lot of stuff was standard on these later cars that you wouldn't find on earlier six cylinder cars.

I don't know if W140 prices will ever take off but that does seem to be a good proposition despite the scabby rear wheels

Sure, it's https://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/199...

He offered £1400, then £1500. I budged slightly but not too much. Ultimately it's worth what someone will pay for it but at £1500 I stuck to my guns.

If contacted the seller, just to get some more info. But I don't want to get too involved as I still have an old Mercedes parked out front!

Quite right too. £500 off a £2,000 car is plenty
