Everyone in this country is far too boring/conservative with car colours I think. It’s either everything is finance white or resale silver. No one seems to want to have any fun anymore.

Oh well, I’ve got a bright red Cayman, and coming soon a Racing Yellow GT4. Life is too short for dull car colours!

Almost went for Miami blue, another wonderful choice.... Why people don’t want fun colours I’ll never know...

as mentioned in my previous posts.
- you cant really consider sports cars or sporty-spec cars. because they have the vibrant colour options
- all the car photos posted here are sports cars.
- the vast majority of normal cars aren't helped by the fact that the manufactuers give boring colours.

Plenty of other regular cars seem to have interesting colour options. No one seems to tick them.

Sports cars, sporty cars whatever you want to call them are far too often painted in boring colours too, IMO.

Gosh that IS depressing. First photo a millions times better.
If you had put a photo of 1965 , it would be the same as the second one, black, white and grey.

You have hit it on the head which is why I posted this. All sorts of colours available from many manufacturers at all price points but no buyers. Very odd.

Admittedly when I ordered my Panamera Turbo in all red the sales manager quietly suggested that it would be VERY bad for resale. I am sure he was right, but I did it anyway.

I love a colour - if nothing else it means you can find your car in a car park!

For a couple of years I had an Imola Red E46 and a Montego Blue BMW.

But now I have Silver Grey and Sparking Graphite so they tend to just blend into the background. laugh

Whenever there’s the option, I’ll always go for a colour. amongst others, I’ve had a yellow Mk1Punto and a pink Datsun, so I either don’t care or I’m making some kind of subliminal statement...biggrin

I’ve a particular dislike for white but unfortunately the current cars look like this...

The two white cars are Unicorn Spec, so couldn’t afford to be choosy. When we bought the i30, for the spec I wanted and in stock, I had a choice of silver or blue. The blue really does look good.

Oh, and as soon as I saw who the OP was I new he’d be whoring around a picture of that red Panamera - and I’m glad cos I think it looks fking ace in that colour with those wheels thumbup

I've got a black car, a silver car and a white car. biggrin
Currently giving consideration to changing my everyday (silver coloured) shed. This one in the PH classifieds might not be to everyone's taste but it ticks a lot of boxes for me. biggrin

So you don't actually have a colour at all then!

Like me now. frown

As for yellow cars, it seems you either love them or hate them. I got mocked for my Corvette by some, and then others think it's one of the best things they've ever seen.
yes I used to get a very mixed set of reactions to my old Nugget Yellow Corrado.
Massive yellow car fan here and bold colours in general, I own a Nugget Yellow Corrado G60 an yep it divides opinion. I think there are barely a dozen or so yellow Corrados left in UK from the original few hundred sold, it was a much more popular colour in America as it was used on a lot of the early brochures/adverts.

We have a bit of a yellow car history in our family, my uncle originally bought the yellow Corrado, my dad had a yellow Cortina, my brother has a bright yellow Toyota Altezza. We spent a few months looking for the right one we found a great spec'd car in Japan. When it arrived in the UK he stored it at his workplace for a few weeks whilst the paperwork was going through, first question from everyone was why have you bought a yellow car? not even why have you bought a car all the way from Japan or what's special about it. Just why yellow!

Be bold people, go yellow !

When Holden built cars locally there were always some bright colours with names that harked back to the heydays of the 70's on offer and I tended towards them. Apart from a lot of blues and reds some of my better choices of the years were:

My first V8 - Morpheus purple

V6 wagon in Atomic green

V6 wagon in Ignition

V8 in Hazard yellow

Cruise hatch in Fantale orange for the OH (I chose the colour biggrin)

It all got a bit boring when everything started being imported, although red and blue tended to be still available.

Yes, the brightly coloured Commodores - used to make me smile that the Motorway Patrol cars were purple and green and orange biggrin I reckon their car parks must have looked like a tin of Quality Street. Of course, now they're driving German cars, they're all silver and white.

I've still got a V8 VF2 wagon on the family car shortlist, and will be looking for one in either copper/orange metallic or dark metallic green. Spitfire Green might be a bit much, but if the price is right...

We do seem very boring in the UK, with an obsession with speccing cars etc for the next owner rather than ourselves. I miss colour too, although my car is white and my other half’s is black paperbag

Previous cars were much more colourful. My other half’s previous orange MINI divided opinion. I thought it looked good but quite a few friends didn’t understand why we didn’t opt for a subtle colour.

The manufacturers don’t help by often charging more for paint or just giving a rubbish selection (eg the OG M2 that was only available in four colours).

If I end up moving to an M3/4, it’ll need to be Yas Marina blue or Sakhir orange.

Not quite in line with people’s yellow Porsche’s, but I happily paid the extra £850 option for Soul Red Crystal on my Mazda6.

I used a stock photo - don’t have any nice ones of my car!

I never had a Spitfire one unfortunately. I don't think many were built. For those of you who don't know what we're on about, it is a very bright green:

Hate the three colours silver, black and grey.
Same here, although I'd also add white to the list.
So what you mean is shiny grey, dark grey, grey and light grey.

For everyone saying that bright colours are available, here's the colours you can get a 3-series in:

So, 2x whites, 2x blacks, light and dark grey/silver, a greeny grey, red, blue and one 'interesting' colour = Orange.

I've seen several of the new 3's in the blue so perhaps people are making the effort to avoid the greys.
