DAF invented the CVT. They named it Variomatic, their version uses 2 rubber belts. The Variomatic replaces the differential.

This was functional but limited in power (the rubber belts had to be replaced regularly). They kept working on the Variomatic, developing the steel-belt CVT we still know today.

The DAF 66 in your picture is a 'Marathon' coupe. The 66 was the last car DAF built before they were bought by Volvo (which kept the 66 in production for a few more years as Volvo 66)
And then Volvo produced the 343 which was a DAF design

Yep, a Passat. Was behind a silver Passat in rush hour traffic and noticed a V6 badge. I had heard of the R36 Passat, but I had no idea they made a regular Passat with a V6, I like it. The only clues were the twin exhausts and the badge. I can't imagine there's many about, that era Passat I'm not sure I've seen, or noticed one without a TDI badge on the back.

Just had a look on AutoTrader, there appears to be 2 for sale, both imports. I've decided I want one.

Dodge Omni O24.

Take a Simca Horizon, remove the practicality and make it look even more st.
Apparently people were stupid enough to buy this.
Also sold as the Plymouth Horizon TC3. After a few years, the car got a facelift and a couple of new names; Dodge Charger and Plymouth Turismo.

Yes, they really did stick the Charger badge onto a Talbot Horizon based coupe that came with a wheezy 1.6 litre Peugeot engine as standard! To be fair, a Shelby-badged 2.2 litre turbo model was later added.

I'm sure I saw a "best hearses" thread once but can't imagine that remotely qualifies.

Also known as a TR2 put right. Triumph running gear, with utterly gorgeous styling.

This came up a few hours ago on Robert Dunn's (Aging Wheels on YouTube) twitter, he didn't know what it was

The twitterverse replied saying it was a Valarra, a body conversion of a C6 Corvette https://valarra.com/

Just been watching "The Terminal List" where the main baddie has a convoy of these funky looking buggies. Apparently it is a Rezvani Tank.

The base model starts at $175,000, going up to $500,000+ for the 6x6 military edition with a 1,300 hp 7.0 V8.

Fun to build one on their configurator with all the options.

I want one!

That cannot actually be driveable. It has zero suspension travel and good luck actually turning the front wheels.

I bring you the wonderful Ostentatienne made by Mohs. It still exists apparently, and is made by the same people who gave us the devastatingly beautiful Mohs Safarikar, a few of which were built:

Prototypes count, right? A Dodge Caliber badged Mitsubishi Lancer intended to replace the Neon but never produced. https://www.thedrive.com/news/43871/pics-show-1-of...

They could have made a SRT badged version of the Evo
