Was it because they wanted to or because of having to replace the pop up lights with fixed lights (see also Honda NSX mk1)
The headlight ban came after the 512M was discontinued so...

Saw this today, any ideas?

MOT Check says Hillman Imp, which it obviously isn't apart from being rear engined like one...

Only 8 remain in the UK, think the owner said. Lovely condition given what it is and the era !

Heard of but never seen one.

And this Elite, I did know of but was so nice it had to be shared.

I’ve heard some stuff in my time but your comment above is the worst ever.

As well we all like different things. I find pop up lights incredibly dated, naff and really anchor a car in a certain time period. They are the equivalent of Old Spice aftershave for cars. My one exception is the 928.

My page scroll happened to stop with the unicolour version only shown. Urgh, I thought, most ugly vehicle ever contender.
Page down and...

Perhaps the most anonymous car currently for sale in the UK, the Suzuki Swace. Only know it exists because I was stuck behind one in a traffic jam, which was still a more entertaining way to spend my afternoon than talking about the Swace.

Its just a rebadged Toyota, I can't imagine Suzuki has much time left in the UK, many Japanese brands have been napping and the Koreans were watching. Why on earth would you buy a Swace over the Toyota its based on or a Kia or Hyundai hybrid? (other hybrids available)

Does it have a boxer engine or is that standard Toyota too.

As far as I can gather, the Swace is the same price as a Corolla, but with a much worse warranty, a couple of missing style features (Corrola has LED tail-lights, Swace doesn't), I don't get why you'd go with a Swace, I think I've only seen one or two on the road. Even if the Corolla was more expensive, the warranty would still be worth that extra money. If you don't know Toyota offer a 10 year/100k mile warranty, so long as you have it serviced at Toyota. Suzuki has the normal 3 year/60k mile warranty.

Even worse there's a rebadged Rav-4(with a different front end), called the Across, and from the website's the Across costs £10k more than a Rav-4, that really makes no sense, unsurprisingly I don't think I've seen an Across on the road, but see many Rav-4's.

From what I recall the Across is PHEV only and was cheaper than the equivalent RAV4. It's all to do with EU rules making it hard to remain compliant when selling only smaller cars. Ironic really, that Suzuki need to sell some big cars to help comply with the rules.

Other companies have managed to develop their own cars, Suzuki is pretty much irrelevant in Europe and the general population would barely notice if they disappeared. It would be a shame but they only have themselves to blame. Look at Mitsubishi. Honda need to have a think too, losing market share massively when Hyundai, Kia, Dacia and even MG are all growing

Ah right, I'll be honest I didn't look further than the "starts from" price.

Just had a look, PHEV Rav-4 is £44k and the Across £46k, so something seems to have changed in the pricing.

you'd have to be absolutely mad to buy an Across over a Rav4 and especially when you look at the prices of the Kia Niro and Sportage Hybrids. I think the next big Mazda is going to be based on a Rav4 and the Mazda2 hybrid a Yaris. Bad times for some former innovative car makers.
