you'd have to be absolutely mad to buy an Across over a Rav4 and especially when you look at the prices of the Kia Niro and Sportage Hybrids. I think the next big Mazda is going to be based on a Rav4 and the Mazda2 hybrid a Yaris. Bad times for some former innovative car makers.
Until 2020 the US market Yaris was a Toyota faced Mazda 2, it got pulled because of low sales https://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2020/06/toyota-d...

Bit of a twist then, when not properly develop a car together, would make more sense

The Autozam Clef.

A bubble-era rebody of a Mazda 626.

I've never heard of it, even if I think my knowledge of bubble-era Japanese madness is/was pretty good.

I want one. It'll be entirely mediocre and grey inside and it's weirdly bland on the outside but when are you gonna see another Autozam Clef?

Similarly whilst other ɛ̃fini products were rebadged Mazdas (including the FD RX-7), the MS-8 was not badge engineered and stood on it's own. Based on the same platform as the above but larger (I think)

I always wanted a Xedos 6 or a Xedos 9 (with the Miller cycle engine) but the above two are even more interesting.

Meanwhile I found out the mad bds designed a W12 way before VW did.

Developed a V12 at the same time because fk it, bubble era Japan money means absolutely nothing

Perhaps the most anonymous car currently for sale in the UK, the Suzuki Swace. Only know it exists because I was stuck behind one in a traffic jam, which was still a more entertaining way to spend my afternoon than talking about the Swace.

Always thought it sounds like a drainage component.

Have we had the Renault Talisman

Tourist dawdling in what looked like a VAG product from a distance, but was a French plated one of these. While since there has been another large French saloon.

Lucra LC470, completely passed me by until today. While it's hardly ground-breaking in any respect, I like it very much!

Isn't that just a none-too-well disguised Toyota Corolla estate? The Corolla is hardly ubiquitous these days either, presumably for good reason. I had one of the old ones, which failed to live up to its reputation.

Yeh, there's a couple for sale here in Canada, but i've never seen one in person (nor a 9-2x).

Several years. There's loads of Renaults not sold in the UK - I think they've even stopped selling the Megane here.

Yes it is. The Across is also a RAV-4 in drag.

Many thanks for not quoting the photo again, my bland-o-meter couldn't take many more views of that thing...

Yep, except its more expensive with a shorter warranty. They've managed to make a Toyota Corolla less desirable. Thinks been done for some sort of taxation reason.
